Controls and Parts

Main controls located on handles and housing.

Front Handle: Trigger switch, Lock-off button. Rear Handle: Chain brake lever, Battery compartment (cordless). Housing: Tensioning knob, Oil filler cap, Power cord entry (corded).

Operation: Press lock-off button, then squeeze trigger to start chain. Release trigger to stop chain. Push chain brake lever forward to engage brake (stops chain instantly). Pull lever back to disengage.

Operation Guide

Proper cutting techniques ensure safety and efficiency.

  1. Starting cut: Hold chainsaw firmly, position bar near wood without touching.
  2. Engage chain: Squeeze trigger gradually to start chain moving.
  3. Cutting: Let chain do the work; do not force. Use middle of bar for best results.
  4. Kickback prevention: Do not cut with tip of bar. Be aware of pinch points.
  5. Stopping: Release trigger, engage chain brake, unplug or remove battery.

Tip: For pruning, cut branches from underside first to prevent bark tearing.

Chain Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety.

  1. Chain sharpening: Use round file and guide; file each cutter at same angle (typically 30°).
  2. Chain tensioning: Check before each use; adjust if chain sags from bar.
  3. Bar inspection: Check for wear, grooves, and straightness; rotate bar periodically.
  4. Oiling: Refill oil tank before each use. Check oil flow by running chainsaw over cardboard (should produce fine line of oil).
  5. Cleaning: Remove sawdust from housing, bar groove, and oil ports.

WARNING! Always disconnect power before maintenance. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling chain.

Storage & Care

Store in dry, secure location away from children.

  1. Clean chainsaw thoroughly after each use.
  2. Empty oil tank if storing for extended period.
  3. Apply light oil to bar and chain to prevent rust.
  4. Store with bar cover installed.
  5. For cordless models, remove battery and store separately at room temperature.

CAUTION! Do not store with fuel (if applicable) in enclosed spaces. Keep away from heat sources.
