Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach the bar and chain: Place bar over studs, fit chain around sprocket and bar, adjust tension.
  2. Fill oil reservoir: Use bar and chain oil (not motor oil).
  3. Mix fuel: 50:1 gas-to-oil ratio (see Section 6).
  4. Check controls: Ensure throttle trigger, choke, and stop switch function properly.

WARNING! Always wear cut-resistant gloves during assembly. Ensure chain is properly tensioned before use.

Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before operation. Always wear personal protective equipment (PPE).

  1. Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and close-fitting clothing.
  2. Clear work area of debris, bystanders, and pets.
  3. Check for kickback dangers: Avoid contact with bar tip.
  4. Never operate above shoulder height or on a ladder.
  5. Keep both hands on handles during operation.

CAUTION! Chainsaw kickback can cause severe injury. Always maintain a firm grip and proper stance.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main controls: Throttle trigger, throttle lockout, choke lever, stop switch, primer bulb, decompression valve.

Handle Area: Front handle with chain brake, rear handle with throttle trigger, fuel tank cap, oil tank cap.

Chain Tensioning: Side-access adjustment screw (no tools required). Chain Brake: Manually engage by pushing forward guard; automatically engages on kickback. Anti-Vibration: Rubber-mounted handles reduce vibration transmission.

Fuel & Oil Mixing

Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum) mixed with 2-stroke engine oil at 50:1 ratio.

  1. Mix in approved container: 2.6 oz of oil per 1 gallon of gasoline.
  2. Shake gently before filling fuel tank.
  3. Use bar and chain oil in oil reservoir (do not use used motor oil).
  4. Never mix fuels near open flame or sparks.

Tip: Use fuel stabilizer if storing over 30 days. Dispose of old fuel properly.

Starting & Operation

Starting procedure (cold engine):

  1. Place on flat, clear ground. Engage chain brake.
  2. Move choke lever to FULL CHOKE position.
  3. Press primer bulb 5-6 times until fuel is visible.
  4. Pull starter rope briskly 2-3 times until engine "pops".
  5. Move choke to HALF position, pull until engine starts.
  6. Allow 30-second warm-up, then squeeze throttle to disengage fast idle.

Operation: Keep chain sharp, maintain proper tension, and let chain do the cutting—do not force.

Chain Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety.

  1. Sharpening: Use round file and guide; maintain 30° cutting angle.
  2. Tensioning: Chain should snap back when pulled from bar; adjust side screw as needed.
  3. Lubrication: Check oil flow by pointing bar at light surface—oil streak should appear.
  4. Cleaning: Remove debris from bar groove, sprocket, and air filter regularly.

WARNING! Always disconnect spark plug before performing maintenance.

Storage & Winterization

Prepare chainsaw for storage (over 30 days):

  1. Drain fuel tank and run engine until it stops.
  2. Remove spark plug, add 1 tsp of oil, pull starter 2-3 times, reinstall plug.
  3. Clean entire unit, apply light oil to bar and chain.
  4. Store in dry, cool place, away from children.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank—fuel can degrade and damage engine.
