Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Always wear appropriate safety gear.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and sturdy footwear.
  2. Work Area Safety: Keep work area clean, well-lit, and free of bystanders.
  3. Electrical Safety: Use a grounded outlet. Keep cord away from cutting area and sharp edges.
  4. Kickback Awareness: Be aware of kickback zone (upper quadrant of bar tip). Use both hands, maintain firm grip.
  5. Chain Brake Test: Test chain brake before each use by engaging it with the front hand guard.

WARNING! Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death. Keep hands away from moving chain. Do not operate while tired or under the influence.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assembly requires minimal tools.

  1. Attach the guide bar and chain: Loosen bar nuts, position bar over studs, loop chain over bar sprocket and guide bar, ensure cutting teeth face forward on top.
  2. Tension the chain: Use the tool-free tensioning knob to adjust until chain snaps back when pulled from the bar. Tighten bar nuts securely.
  3. Fill oil reservoir: Use only bar and chain oil. Fill to MAX line. Check for leaks.
  4. Check chain brake: Manually push front hand guard forward to engage brake. It should snap into place.

CAUTION! Ensure chainsaw is unplugged during assembly. Chain must be properly tensioned to prevent derailment or injury.

Operation Guide

Proper technique ensures safe and efficient cutting.

  1. Pre-Operation Check: Verify chain tension, oil level, chain brake function, and cord condition.
  2. Starting: Plug into outlet. Press lock-off button, then squeeze trigger. Chain should begin moving smoothly.
  3. Basic Cutting: Use both hands. Let the saw do the work—do not force it. Cut at full throttle.
  4. Kickback Prevention: Do not let the upper tip of the bar contact wood or other objects.
  5. Manual Oiling: Press oiler button periodically during use if additional lubrication is needed.
  6. Stopping: Release trigger. Chain will stop. Unplug saw when not in use.

Tip: Plan your cut and escape path before starting. Never cut above shoulder height.

Chain Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety.

  1. Sharpening: Use a round file and file guide. Maintain correct filing angle (typically 30°). File all cutters evenly.
  2. Tensioning: Chain stretches with use. Check tension frequently, especially when new. Adjust with tensioning knob when chain is cool.
  3. Lubrication: Always use bar and chain oil. Check reservoir before each use. Clean oil ports if clogged.
  4. Inspection: Regularly inspect chain for damaged, broken, or excessively worn cutters, drive links, and tie straps. Replace if necessary.

WARNING! Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance. A dull or loose chain increases kickback risk and reduces cutting efficiency.

Cleaning & Storage

Unplug and allow to cool before cleaning. Wipe down exterior with a dry cloth. Remove sawdust from air vents, guide bar groove, and sprocket cover.

Storage: Empty oil reservoir or store upright to prevent leaks. Store in a dry, secure location out of reach of children. Use a bar guard or scabbard.

CAUTION! Do not use water or solvents for cleaning. Never store with fuel (not applicable for electric model).
