Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach the guide bar and chain: Place bar over studs, loop chain over sprocket and bar, adjust tension.
  2. Fill with fuel: Use fresh 50:1 gas/oil mix (see Fuel & Oil section).
  3. Fill with bar & chain oil: Use quality chainsaw oil in oil tank.
  4. Check chain tension: Chain should be snug but pull freely around bar.

WARNING! Always wear cut-resistant gloves during assembly. Ensure chain is installed with cutting teeth facing forward.

Safety Instructions

Read and understand all safety warnings before operation.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and close-fitting clothing.
  2. Clear work area: Ensure no bystanders, pets, or obstacles within 15 feet.
  3. Check chain brake: Verify it engages properly before each use.
  4. Carry safely: Engage chain brake, carry with bar pointing rearward.
  5. Kickback zone: Avoid contact with upper quarter of bar tip.

DANGER! Kickback can cause severe injury. Never operate with one hand. Maintain firm grip with thumbs wrapped around handles.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main Controls: Throttle trigger, throttle lockout, choke lever, primer bulb, ON/OFF switch, chain brake lever.

Right Side: Chain brake lever, rear handle, throttle trigger, throttle lockout. Left Side: Choke lever, primer bulb, ON/OFF switch. Top: Fuel cap, oil cap, air filter cover. Front: Guide bar, chain, sprocket cover, chain tensioning knob.

Operation: Pull choke for cold start, press primer 5-6 times, set ON/OFF to ON, pull starter rope. Disengage choke after engine fires. Engage chain brake by pushing lever forward.

Fuel & Oil

Fuel Mix: Use fresh 89 octane or higher unleaded gasoline mixed with high-quality 2-cycle engine oil at 50:1 ratio. Do not use fuel older than 60 days.

Bar & Chain Oil: Use quality chainsaw bar oil. Do not use waste motor oil or dirty oil.

  1. Fill fuel tank: Use funnel to avoid spills. Wipe any spilled fuel.
  2. Fill oil tank: Fill with bar & chain oil before each use.
  3. Check oil flow: Run saw at high speed over light-colored surface; look for oil sling.

CAUTION! Fuel is highly flammable. Refuel in well-ventilated area with engine off and cool. No smoking.

Starting & Operation

Starting Procedure (Cold Engine):

  1. Place on flat, clear ground. Engage chain brake.
  2. Set ON/OFF switch to ON position.
  3. Pull choke lever to FULL CHOKE position.
  4. Press primer bulb 5-6 times until fuel is visible.
  5. Hold front handle with left hand, place right foot in rear handle.
  6. Pull starter rope briskly until engine fires (usually 3-5 pulls).
  7. Push choke lever to HALF CHOKE. Pull starter until engine runs.
  8. Allow to warm up 30 seconds. Squeeze throttle to disengage fast idle.

Cutting Tips: Let chain do the work; avoid forcing. Cut at full throttle. Plan escape path from falling limbs.

Chain Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety.

  1. Sharpening: Use round file (5/32" or 4.0mm) and file guide. Maintain 30° cutting angle. File all teeth evenly.
  2. Tensioning: Chain should be snug against bar but pull freely. Adjust with side knob when chain is cool.
  3. Cleaning: Remove debris from bar groove, oil holes, and sprocket. Clean air filter every 5 hours.
  4. Lubrication: Ensure oil tank is filled and oiler is working. Check bar rails for wear.

WARNING! Always disconnect spark plug wire before performing maintenance. Wear gloves when handling chain.

Storage

For storage longer than 30 days:

  1. Drain all fuel from tank and carburetor. Run engine until it stops.
  2. Remove chain, clean, and soak in oil. Store bar coated with oil.
  3. Clean entire saw of dirt and sawdust.
  4. Store in dry, cool place away from children.

CAUTION! Storing with fuel can cause carburetor damage and starting problems.
