Safety Information

Read all instructions before use. Wear appropriate PPE.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toed boots, and chainsaw chaps or pants.
  2. Work Area Safety: Keep bystanders and pets at least 15 feet away. Ensure secure footing.
  3. Kickback Zone: Avoid contact with the upper quarter of the guide bar tip.
  4. Pre-Start Check: Inspect chain tension, sharpness, and all components before each use.

WARNING! Chainsaws are dangerous. Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death. Never operate while tired or under the influence.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach Guide Bar & Chain: Loosen bar nuts, fit bar onto studs, loop chain onto sprocket and bar (cutting edges forward on top), tension chain, tighten nuts.
  2. Fill Oil Tank: Use high-quality bar & chain oil. Fill to marked level.
  3. Mix Fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (minimum 89 octane) mixed with 2-stroke oil at a 50:1 ratio (check manual for exact ratio).
  4. Fill Fuel Tank: Add mixed fuel to fuel tank.

CAUTION! Fuel is highly flammable. Mix and fill in a well-ventilated area away from sparks or flames.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main Body: Throttle Trigger, Throttle Lockout, Stop Switch, Choke Lever, Primer Bulb, Decompression Valve.

Safety Features: Chain Brake (Front Hand Guard), Right-Hand Guard, Chain Catcher.

Adjustments: Chain Tensioning Screw (side), Idle Speed Screw (carburetor), L/H Screw (carburetor).

Fuel & Oil Mixing

Use fresh fuel. Stale fuel is a common cause of starting problems.

  1. Use clean, approved gasoline container.
  2. Add specified amount of high-quality 2-stroke engine oil (e.g., for 50:1, add 2.6 oz oil to 1 gallon gas).
  3. Close container and shake thoroughly to mix.
  4. Fill chainsaw fuel tank. Do not overfill.

Tip: Use fuel stabilizer if storing for more than 30 days. Never use automotive oil or straight gasoline.

Starting & Operation

Follow cold start procedure for first use of the day.

  1. Pre-Start: Place on clear, level ground. Engage chain brake. Check fuel/oil levels.
  2. Cold Start: Set stop switch to "I". Pull choke to full position. Press primer bulb 5-10 times. Pull starter rope sharply until engine 'pops'. Push choke to half position. Pull starter rope again until engine starts. Let run for 10 seconds, then push choke fully off.
  3. Warm Start: Choke off. Pull starter rope.
  4. Cutting: Disengage chain brake. Squeeze throttle trigger to increase RPM before contacting wood. Let the saw do the work; do not force it.
  5. Stopping: Release throttle, allow engine to idle, set stop switch to "O".

WARNING! Always engage chain brake when carrying or not actively cutting. Be aware of kickback.

Chain Maintenance

A sharp, properly tensioned chain is critical for safety and performance.

  1. Tensioning: Chain should be snug against bar but pull freely by hand. Loosen bar nuts, adjust tension screw, retighten nuts. Re-check when chain is warm.
  2. Sharpening: Use correct round file size (typically 5/32" or 3/16"). Maintain factory filing angle (usually 30°). File all cutters evenly.
  3. Depth Gauges: File down depth gauges (rakers) to proper height below cutters using a depth gauge tool.
  4. Lubrication: Ensure oiler is working; chain should throw a fine line of oil. Clean oiler ports if clogged.

Storage & Care

Prepare chainsaw for storage to prevent fuel system damage.

  1. Drain all fuel from tank and carburetor by running the engine until it stops.
  2. Remove spark plug, add a teaspoon of 2-stroke oil into cylinder, pull starter slowly 2-3 times, reinstall plug.
  3. Clean entire saw, especially air filter and cooling fins.
  4. Loosen chain tension. Store in a dry, secure place.

CAUTION! Store fuel in an approved container away from living areas. Never store saw with fuel in the tank for extended periods.
