Safety Information

Read all instructions before use. Wear appropriate PPE.

  1. Always wear: Safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, sturdy boots.
  2. Clear work area of debris and bystanders.
  3. Check chain tension and sharpness before each use.
  4. Never operate above shoulder height or on a ladder.
  5. Use two hands; maintain firm grip.

WARNING! Gasoline is flammable. Refuel in well-ventilated area with engine off and cool. Keep away from sparks or flames.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach guide bar and chain: Place bar on mounting studs, loop chain over sprocket and bar groove, adjust tension.
  2. Fill oil reservoir: Use bar and chain oil only.
  3. Mix fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane min.) with 2-cycle oil at 50:1 ratio (see section 6).
  4. Prime and choke: Press primer bulb 5-10 times, set choke to closed position for cold start.

CAUTION! Ensure chain is properly installed with cutting teeth facing forward on top of bar.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main components: Front handle with throttle trigger, rear handle, chain brake lever, throttle lockout, choke lever, primer bulb, decompression valve, side-access tensioner.

Operation Controls: Throttle trigger (squeeze to accelerate), Throttle lockout (must be depressed to engage throttle), Chain brake lever (push forward to engage brake), Choke lever (closed for cold start, open for warm), Stop switch (OFF/RUN).

Maintenance Points: Air filter cover, spark plug, muffler, chain tensioner, oil fill cap, fuel fill cap.

Fuel & Oil Mixing

Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum) mixed with high-quality 2-cycle engine oil.

  1. Mix ratio: 50:1 (2.6 fl oz oil per 1 gallon of gasoline).
  2. Use approved mixing container. Add oil first, then gasoline.
  3. Shake container thoroughly before refueling.
  4. Never use straight gasoline or motor oil.
  5. Use fuel within 30 days; add fuel stabilizer for longer storage.

Tip: Use bar and chain oil in reservoir, NOT fuel mix. Check oil level before each use.

Operation Instructions

Starting procedure and cutting techniques.

  1. Cold Start: Set chain brake ON. Move choke lever to closed. Press primer bulb 5-10 times. Pull starter cord briskly until engine fires. Move choke to open. Pull cord again to start.
  2. Warm Start: Choke open. Pull cord normally.
  3. Cutting: Disengage chain brake. Squeeze throttle lockout and trigger. Allow chain to reach full speed before contacting wood.
  4. Kickback Prevention: Hold firmly with both hands. Do not cut with tip of bar. Be aware of pinch points.
  5. Shutdown: Release throttle, allow chain to stop. Move stop switch to OFF.

WARNING! Never drop-start or start while holding off the ground. Always engage chain brake when starting or carrying.

Chain Maintenance

Proper chain care ensures performance and safety.

  1. Sharpening: Use round file matching chain pitch (typically 5/32"). Maintain 30° cutting angle. File each cutter evenly.
  2. Tensioning: Chain should snap back when pulled from bar. Adjust via side tensioner when cool. Tighten bar nuts after adjustment.
  3. Lubrication: Check oil flow by running at idle over light-colored surface; look for oil line.
  4. Depth Gauges: File down periodically with flat file to maintain proper height (0.025" below cutter).

CAUTION! Always wear gloves when handling chain. Replace chain when stretched beyond adjuster range or damaged.

Storage & Winterization

Prepare chainsaw for extended storage.

  1. Drain fuel tank and run engine until it stops to clear carburetor.
  2. Remove spark plug, add 1 tsp of oil through hole, pull starter 2-3 times, reinstall plug.
  3. Clean entire unit, especially air filter and cooling fins.
  4. Loosen chain tension, coat bar and chain with oil.
  5. Store in dry place, covered, out of reach of children.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank for more than 30 days without stabilizer.
