Safety Information

Read all instructions before use. Wear appropriate PPE.

  1. Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and chainsaw chaps.
  2. Keep bystanders and pets at least 15 feet away.
  3. Never operate chainsaw above shoulder height or with one hand.
  4. Ensure chain brake is functional before each use.
  5. Use proper fuel mix: 50:1 (2-stroke oil to unleaded petrol).

WARNING! Chainsaw kickback can cause serious injury. Always hold firmly with both hands. Never operate when tired or under influence.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect contents. Assemble guide bar and chain.

  1. Attach guide bar: Place bar onto studs, align chain around sprocket and bar groove.
  2. Tension chain: Use side tensioner to adjust until chain snaps back when pulled from bar.
  3. Fill fuel: Use 50:1 mix (2.6% oil). Shake well before filling.
  4. Fill chain oil: Use recommended bar and chain oil.
  5. Check controls: Ensure throttle trigger, choke, and stop switch operate smoothly.

CAUTION! Ensure chain is properly tensioned—too loose may derail; too tight may damage bar.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main components: Front handle with chain brake, rear handle with throttle trigger, choke lever, primer bulb, stop switch, side tensioner, fuel cap, oil cap.

Controls: Throttle trigger (with lockout), choke lever (cold start), primer bulb (fuel prime), stop switch (engine kill), chain brake lever (front handle).

Adjustments: Chain tension (side knob), oil flow (screw near oil cap). Maintenance: Air filter (clean monthly), spark plug (check gap 0.65 mm), fuel filter (replace yearly).

Starting the Engine

Cold start procedure (first start of day).

  1. Place chainsaw on flat, clear ground.
  2. Engage chain brake by pushing forward on front handle guard.
  3. Set choke lever to full choke position.
  4. Press primer bulb 5-6 times until fuel is visible.
  5. Pull starter cord briskly 2-3 times until engine 'pops'.
  6. Move choke to half-choke position.
  7. Pull starter cord until engine starts.
  8. Allow to warm up 30 seconds, then disengage chain brake.

Tip: For warm restart, use half-choke or no choke.

Operating Procedures

Proper cutting techniques for safety and efficiency.

  1. Grip: Hold front handle with left hand, rear handle with right hand.
  2. Stance: Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, left foot slightly forward.
  3. Cutting: Let chain do the work; avoid forcing saw.
  4. Kickback zone: Avoid cutting with upper tip of bar.
  5. Bucking: Support log properly; cut from top down.
  6. Limbing: Work from trunk outward; keep body to side.
  7. Oiling: Check oil level frequently; adjust flow for dusty conditions.
  8. Shutdown: Engage chain brake, move stop switch to OFF.

WARNING! Never cut with tip of bar. Always plan escape path from falling tree.

Chain & Bar Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety.

  1. Sharpening: Use round file (5/32 inch) every 2-3 hours of use.
  2. Tension: Check frequently; chain should snap back when pulled.
  3. Bar: Clean groove weekly; flip bar monthly for even wear.
  4. Sprocket: Inspect for wear; replace if teeth are hooked.
  5. Oil flow: Test by running at idle over cardboard; should show oil line.

CAUTION! Always wear gloves when handling chain. Ensure engine is off and cool.

Storage & Transport

Store properly to extend lifespan.

  1. Drain fuel tank if storing over 30 days.
  2. Run engine until it stops to clear carburetor.
  3. Remove chain, clean and oil it, store separately.
  4. Clean air filter and exterior.
  5. Store in dry, locked area away from children.
  6. Transport with bar guard and chain brake engaged.

CAUTION! Fuel is flammable. Store in approved container away from heat sources.
