Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Wear proper safety gear.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toed boots, and close-fitting clothing.
  2. Work Area Safety: Clear area of bystanders, especially children and pets. Ensure secure footing.
  3. Chain Brake Check: Test chain brake function before each use by pushing lever forward.
  4. Fuel Safety: Refuel outdoors, away from ignition sources. Allow engine to cool before refueling.
  5. Kickback Awareness: Be aware of kickback zone (upper quadrant of bar tip). Never cut with tip.

WARNING! Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death. Keep hands away from moving chain.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach Guide Bar & Chain: Place bar over studs, align chain with sprocket and bar groove, tension chain appropriately.
  2. Fill Fuel Tank: Mix gasoline and 2-stroke oil (50:1 ratio). Use fresh fuel. Do not overfill.
  3. Fill Oil Tank: Use high-quality bar and chain oil. Check level before each use.
  4. Check Chain Tension: Chain should be snug against bar but pull freely by hand.
  5. Inspect All Fasteners: Ensure nuts, bolts, and screws are tight.

CAUTION! Chain must be properly tensioned. Loose chain can derail; overtightened chain can damage bar or engine.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main Controls: On/Off Switch, Choke Lever, Throttle Trigger, Throttle Lockout, Chain Brake Lever, Primer Bulb (if equipped).

Components: Front Handle, Rear Handle, Muffler, Spark Plug, Air Filter Cover, Fuel Cap, Oil Cap, Decompression Valve (if equipped).

Operation: Set choke to START for cold starts. Pull starter rope firmly. Once engine fires, move choke to RUN. Squeeze throttle lockout and trigger to engage chain. Push chain brake lever forward to stop chain instantly (safety feature).

Starting & Operating

Starting Procedure (Cold Engine):

  1. Place chainsaw on flat ground. Engage chain brake.
  2. Press primer bulb 5-6 times (if equipped).
  3. Set choke lever to FULL CHOKE position.
  4. Hold front handle with left hand, place right foot in rear handle guard.
  5. Pull starter rope briskly until engine "pops".
  6. Move choke to HALF CHOKE. Pull starter rope again to start.
  7. Allow engine to warm up at idle for 30 seconds before cutting.

Cutting Techniques: Use lower quadrant of bar for cutting. Let chain do the work; do not force. Be aware of pinch points, especially when cutting logs under tension.

Maintenance & Storage

Daily/Pre-Use Checks: Chain tension, sharpness, bar condition, fuel/oil levels, air filter cleanliness, fastener tightness.

  1. Air Filter: Clean every 5 hours of use. Replace if damaged.
  2. Spark Plug: Check gap (0.025 inch). Clean or replace every season.
  3. Fuel System: Use fuel stabilizer if storing >30 days. Drain fuel for long-term storage.
  4. Exterior Cleaning: Wipe down with damp cloth. Remove sawdust from cooling fins and air intake.
  5. Storage: Store in dry, cool place. Use bar guard. Keep out of reach of children.

WARNING! Always disconnect spark plug wire before performing maintenance.

Chain & Bar Care

Proper chain maintenance ensures performance and safety.

Tip: A sharp chain cuts faster, reduces kickback risk, and prolongs engine life.
