Safety Information

Read and understand all instructions before operation. Wear appropriate PPE.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toed boots, and close-fitting clothing.
  2. Clear Work Area: Ensure bystanders, pets, and obstacles are at least 15 feet away.
  3. Inspect Saw: Check for loose parts, damaged chain, and proper chain tension before each use.
  4. Fuel Safety: Mix fuel outdoors, away from ignition sources. Use fresh gasoline and 2-stroke oil at specified ratio (e.g., 40:1).

WARNING! Risk of severe injury or death from kickback, chain contact, or falling limbs. Never operate with one hand, above shoulder height, or on a ladder.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect contents. Assemble guide bar and chain.

  1. Attach Guide Bar: Place bar onto mounting studs, aligning adjustment pin with hole in bar.
  2. Install Chain: Fit chain over bar sprocket and onto drive sprocket, ensuring cutting teeth face forward on top of bar.
  3. Tension Chain: Using tool-less tensioner, adjust until chain snaps back lightly when pulled from bar. Tighten bar nuts securely.
  4. Fill Tanks: Add fresh fuel/oil mix to fuel tank and bar & chain oil to oil tank. Wipe away spills.

CAUTION! Ensure chain is properly tensioned. A loose chain can derail; an overtightened chain can damage the engine.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main Controls: Throttle Trigger, Throttle Lockout, Stop Switch, Choke, Primer Bulb, Chain Brake Lever.

Components: Front Hand Guard, Rear Handle, Fuel Tank Cap, Oil Tank Cap, Spark Plug, Air Filter Cover, Muffler.

Operation: Set chain brake to ON (forward) for safe starting. Press throttle lockout while pulling trigger. Use choke for cold starts. Engage chain brake manually by pushing lever forward with wrist.

Starting & Operating

Starting Procedure (Cold Engine):

  1. Place saw on clear, level ground. Engage chain brake.
  2. Press primer bulb 5-10 times until fuel is visible.
  3. Set choke to FULL position.
  4. Pull starter rope sharply until engine "pops".
  5. Move choke to HALF position. Pull starter rope again until engine starts.
  6. Allow engine to warm up at idle for 30 seconds. Disengage chain brake to begin cutting.

Tip: For warm restart, do not use choke. Use half-choke only if necessary.

Chain & Bar Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety.

  1. Chain Sharpening: Use round file and guide to sharpen at specified angle (typically 30°). File all cutters evenly.
  2. Chain Tension: Check frequently during use; adjust when chain sags from bar. Chain should snap back lightly.
  3. Bar Maintenance: Clean bar groove, check for wear, and rotate bar periodically for even wear.
  4. Sprocket Inspection: Check drive sprocket for wear; replace if teeth are hooked or excessively worn.

WARNING! Always wear heavy gloves when handling chain. Ensure engine is off and cool before maintenance.

Fuel & Lubrication

Fuel Mix: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (max 30 days old) and high-quality 2-stroke engine oil. Mix at specified ratio (e.g., 40:1) in approved container. Shake well.

Bar & Chain Oil: Use only specified viscosity (e.g., SAE 30) bar and chain oil for lubrication. Do not use waste oil. Check oil level before each use.

CAUTION! Gasoline is highly flammable. Mix outdoors, away from sparks or flames. Store fuel in approved container labeled for gasoline.

Storage

For storage longer than 30 days:

  1. Drain fuel tank and run engine until it stops to clear carburetor.
  2. Remove chain, clean, and soak in oil. Clean bar and coat with oil.
  3. Clean entire saw of dirt and debris.
  4. Store in dry, cool place, away from ignition sources and out of reach of children.

CAUTION! Storing with fuel in tank can cause gum deposits in carburetor, leading to starting issues.
