Safety Information

Read all instructions before use. Always wear appropriate safety gear.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, non-slip footwear, and close-fitting clothing.
  2. Work Area Safety: Keep bystanders and pets at least 15 feet away. Ensure stable footing.
  3. Electrical Safety: Use a grounded outlet. Keep cord clear of cutting area and sharp objects.
  4. Kickback Awareness: Be aware of kickback zone (upper quadrant of bar tip). Use both hands.

WARNING! Risk of serious injury or death. Do not operate without proper training and safety gear. Keep hands away from chain.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach the guide bar and chain: Place bar on mounting studs. Loop chain over bar with cutting teeth facing forward. Adjust tension.
  2. Fill oil reservoir: Use only recommended bar and chain oil. Fill to MAX line.
  3. Check chain tension: Chain should be snug against bar but pull freely by hand.
  4. Plug into outlet: Ensure power switch is OFF before plugging in.

CAUTION! Ensure chain is properly installed and tensioned before operation to prevent derailment.

Specifications

Controls and Parts

Main components: Front handle with guard, rear handle with trigger and lockout, oil filler cap, tension adjustment knob, chain brake lever (if equipped).

Controls: ON/OFF switch, Trigger lockout (must be depressed to pull trigger), Chain tension knob (turn clockwise to tighten), Oiler adjustment (if equipped).

Safety: Chain brake stops chain if kickback occurs. Front hand guard protects left hand. Always engage trigger lockout when not cutting.

Operation Instructions

Starting and basic cutting techniques.

  1. Pre-Operation Check: Verify chain tension, oil level, and that bar/chain are secure.
  2. Starting: Place on firm ground. Press trigger lockout, then squeeze trigger.
  3. Cutting: Let chain reach full speed before contacting wood. Use steady, even pressure.
  4. Kickback Prevention: Do not cut with tip. Be aware of pinching. Use both hands.
  5. Stopping: Release trigger. Wait for chain to stop completely before setting down.

Tip: For felling trees, plan escape path. For limbing, cut from top down. For bucking, support log off ground.

Chain Maintenance

Proper chain care ensures performance and safety.

  1. Sharpening: Use correct round file size (typically 5/32"). Maintain 30° cutting angle. File all cutters evenly.
  2. Tensioning: Chain stretches when new. Check tension frequently; adjust when cool.
  3. Lubrication: Check oil level before each use. Automatic oiler should leave a light line of oil on cut surface.
  4. Inspection: Look for damaged, loose, or worn drive links, tie straps, and cutters.
  5. Replacement: Replace chain when cutters are worn beyond repair or damaged.

WARNING! Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance. Wear gloves when handling chain.

Cleaning & Storage

Unplug and allow to cool before cleaning. Wipe exterior with dry cloth. Clean bar groove and oil ports.

Storage: Empty oil reservoir or store upright. Cover bar and chain. Store in dry, locked location out of reach of children.

CAUTION! Do not use water or solvents to clean motor housing. Keep ventilation slots clear.
