Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assembly requires attaching the guide bar and chain, and filling with fuel and oil.

  1. Attach guide bar and chain: Place bar over studs, loop chain over sprocket and bar, adjust tension.
  2. Fill oil tank: Use bar and chain oil only. Check for leaks.
  3. Mix fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane min.) with 2-cycle oil at 40:1 ratio (3.2 oz oil per 1 gal gas).
  4. Fill fuel tank: Use fuel mix only. Do not overfill.

WARNING! Always wear protective gloves during assembly. Ensure chain is properly tensioned before use.

Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before operation. Always wear safety gear: eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and sturdy boots.

  1. Clear work area of debris and bystanders.
  2. Check chain tension and sharpness before each use.
  3. Engage chain brake when carrying or starting.
  4. Use two hands on handles at all times during operation.

Fuel & Oil

Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum) mixed with high-quality 2-cycle engine oil designed for air-cooled engines.

  1. Mix at 40:1 ratio: 3.2 oz (95 ml) of oil per 1 US gallon (3.8 L) of gasoline.
  2. Shake fuel container thoroughly before filling.
  3. Use bar and chain oil in oil tank. Do not use waste oil.
  4. Check oil level frequently during use.

Tip: Use fuel stabilizer if storing for more than 30 days. Always store fuel mix in approved container.

Starting & Operation

Starting procedure (cold engine):

  1. Place saw on flat, clear ground. Engage chain brake.
  2. Set stop switch to "I" (run).
  3. Pull choke control fully out.
  4. Press primer bulb 5-6 times.
  5. Hold front handle with left hand, place right foot in rear handle.
  6. Pull starter cord briskly until engine fires (1-3 pulls).
  7. Push choke control in halfway.
  8. Pull starter cord again until engine starts.
  9. Disengage chain brake before cutting.

WARNING! Never drop-start or start above waist height. Keep firm grip during starting.

Chain Maintenance

Regular chain maintenance ensures safe operation and longer life.

  1. Tensioning: Use side-access tensioner when chain is cool. Adjust until chain snaps back when pulled from bar.
  2. Sharpening: Use round file (5/32" or 4.0mm) and file guide. Maintain 30° cutting angle.
  3. Cleaning: Remove debris from bar groove and oil holes.
  4. Rotation: Flip bar periodically for even wear.

CAUTION! Always wear gloves when handling chain. Ensure engine is off and cool.

Storage

For storage longer than 30 days:

  1. Drain fuel tank and run engine until it stops.
  2. Remove chain, clean, and soak in oil.
  3. Clean entire saw of dirt and debris.
  4. Store in dry, cool place away from ignition sources.
  5. Cover to prevent dust accumulation.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank for extended periods. Fuel can degrade and damage engine.
