Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach guide bar and chain: Loosen bar nuts, position bar, loop chain over sprocket, adjust tension.
  2. Fill fuel tank: Mix 2-cycle oil with unleaded gasoline (40:1 ratio).
  3. Fill chain oil tank: Use recommended bar and chain oil.
  4. Check chain brake: Ensure it moves freely and engages properly.

WARNING! Always wear protective gloves during assembly. Ensure chain is installed with cutting teeth facing forward.

Safety Instructions

Read all safety warnings before operation.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and steel-toe boots.
  2. Clear work area: Remove debris, ensure stable footing, keep bystanders away.
  3. Inspect chainsaw: Check for loose parts, chain tension, and fuel leaks before each use.
  4. Hold properly: Use both hands, right on rear handle, left on front handle.
  5. Avoid kickback: Do not cut with tip of bar; be aware of pinch points.

CAUTION! Never operate a chainsaw while tired, under the influence, or in poor weather conditions.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main components: Front handle with chain brake, rear handle with throttle trigger, choke control, primer bulb, stop switch, and fuel/oil caps.

Controls: Throttle trigger (with safety lock), choke lever (for cold starts), stop switch (ON/OFF), primer bulb (press 3-5 times), chain brake lever (front handle), chain tension adjuster (side knob).

Operation: Engage safety throttle lock before starting. Pull choke for cold starts. Press primer bulb to draw fuel. Pull starter cord firmly. Disengage choke as engine warms.

Starting & Operation

Starting procedure (cold engine):

  1. Place on flat ground, clear of debris.
  2. Engage chain brake by pulling lever forward.
  3. Press primer bulb 3-5 times.
  4. Move choke lever to FULL CHOKE position.
  5. Hold front handle with left hand, place right foot in rear handle.
  6. Pull starter cord briskly 2-3 times until engine "pops".
  7. Move choke to HALF CHOKE, pull cord until engine starts.
  8. Allow to warm up 30 seconds, then disengage chain brake.

Tip: For warm restart, use HALF CHOKE or NO CHOKE position.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures performance and longevity.

  1. After each use: Clean air filter, check chain tension, wipe exterior.
  2. Weekly: Clean spark arrestor screen, inspect guide bar for wear.
  3. Monthly: Replace spark plug, clean fuel filter, check all fasteners.
  4. Seasonal: Replace fuel lines if cracked, clean carburetor.

WARNING! Always disconnect spark plug wire before performing maintenance. Allow engine to cool completely.

Chain Sharpening & Tensioning

Proper chain maintenance is critical for safe operation.

Sharpening: Use round file matching chain pitch (typically 5/32"). File each cutter at 30° angle, maintaining equal length on all cutters. Check depth gauges with gauge tool.

Tensioning: Chain should be snug against bar but pull freely. Adjust with side knob when chain is cool. Proper tension: chain should not sag from bar but should snap back when pulled.

Storage Guidelines

Prepare chainsaw for storage (30+ days):

  1. Drain fuel tank completely or add fuel stabilizer.
  2. Run engine until carburetor is dry.
  3. Remove chain, clean in solvent, coat with oil.
  4. Clean entire saw, especially air intake and cooling fins.
  5. Store in dry place, covered, out of reach of children.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank for extended periods—fuel degrades and damages carburetor.
