Starting & Operation

Starting procedure for cold and warm engine.

  1. Place saw on flat, clear ground.

  5. Press primer bulb 5-6 times.
  6. Hold rear handle with right hand, place left foot through front handle.
  7. Pull starter rope briskly until engine fires.
  8. Push choke to half position; pull until engine starts.
  9. Disengage chain brake before cutting.

Tip: Allow engine to warm up at idle for 30 seconds before cutting.

Chain & Bar Maintenance

  1. Chain tension: Adjust when chain sags from bar; tighten until snug but able to rotate by hand.
  2. Sharpening: Use round file matching chain pitch; maintain 30° cutting angle.
  3. Bar maintenance: Clean bar groove; flip bar periodically for even wear.
  4. Oiler check: Ensure oil flow by holding saw over light surface and running at high idle; look for oil line.
