  2. Fill oil reservoir: Use recommended bar & chain oil.
  3. Mix fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane min.) with 2-cycle oil at 40:1 ratio.
  4. Check controls: Ensure throttle trigger, lockout, and chain brake function properly.

WARNING! Always wear cut-resistant gloves during assembly. Ensure chain is installed with cutting teeth facing forward on top of bar.

Safety Instructions

Read and understand all safety warnings before operation.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and chainsaw chaps.
  2. Clear work area: Remove tripping hazards, ensure bystanders are at least 15 feet away.
  3. Pre-start check: Verify chain tension, sharpness, and lubrication; check for loose parts.
  4. Safe operation: Hold saw firmly with both hands, maintain secure footing, do not cut above shoulder height.
  5. Kickback prevention: Keep nose of bar away from obstructions; use reduced-kickback chain.

CAUTION! Never operate a chainsaw while fatigued or under the influence. Always assume the chain brake is off until verified.

  1. Place saw on flat ground, clear of debris.
  2. Activate chain brake by pushing forward.
  3. Set choke lever to FULL CHOKE position.
  4. Press primer bulb 5-6 times until fuel visible.
  5. Pull starter rope briskly 2-3 times until engine 'pops'.
  6. Move choke to HALF position.
  7. Pull starter until engine starts.
  8. Allow to warm up 30 seconds, then disengage chain brake.

WARNING! Never drop-start or start above waist height. Keep firm grip on rear handle.

Chain Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety.

  1. Chain sharpening: Use 5/32" round file and file guide. Maintain 30° cutting angle.
  2. Chain tension: Adjust when cool; chain should snap back when pulled from bar.
  3. Bar maintenance: Clean bar groove weekly; flip bar monthly for even wear.
  4. Sprocket inspection: Replace if teeth are hooked or worn.

CAUTION! Always disconnect spark plug before performing maintenance. Wear gloves when handling chain.

Storage & Winterization

For storage exceeding 30 days:

  1. Drain fuel tank and run engine until carburetor is dry.
  2. Remove chain, clean, and soak in oil.
  3. Clean air filter and spark arrestor screen.
