Operation Guide

Operating the chainsaw safely requires proper stance, grip, and cutting technique.

  1. Pre-operation check: Ensure chain tension is correct, oil reservoir is full, and chain is sharp.
  2. Starting: Press lock-off button, then squeeze trigger. Allow chain to reach full speed before cutting.
  3. Cutting: Use lower part of bar for cutting. Do not force saw; let chain do the work.
  4. Kickback prevention: Hold saw firmly with both hands. Do not cut with tip of bar.
  5. Stopping: Release trigger. Engage chain brake when not in use.

CAUTION! Always cut at waist level or below. Never operate above shoulder height.

Chain Maintenance

Proper chain maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety.

  1. Sharpening: Use round file matching chain pitch. File each cutter at 30-degree angle.
  2. Tensioning: Chain stretches with use. Check tension frequently and adjust with tensioning knob.
  3. Lubrication: Automatic oiler requires reservoir to be filled before each use. Check oil flow by pointing bar at light surface and running saw briefly; a thin line of oil should appear.
  4. Replacement: Replace chain when cutters are worn beyond sharpening or damaged.

NOTICE: Use only genuine Poulan replacement chains and bar.

Cleaning & Storage

Unplug chainsaw before cleaning. Wipe exterior with dry cloth. Clean guide bar groove and oil ports.

Storage: Empty oil reservoir or store upright. Store in dry, cool place out of children's reach. Use scabbard to cover bar and chain.

CAUTION! Do not use water or solvents to clean motor housing.
