Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Wear appropriate PPE.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment: Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and close-fitting clothing.
  2. Work Area Safety: Keep bystanders and pets at a safe distance. Ensure stable footing and clear of tripping hazards.
  3. Electrical Safety: Use a grounded outlet. Keep cord away from cutting area and sharp objects. Do not use in wet conditions.
  4. Chain Saw Handling: Hold with both hands. Do not operate above shoulder height. Be aware of kickback zone (upper tip of bar).
  5. Chain Brake Test: Test function before each use by pushing hand guard forward.

WARNING! Kickback can cause serious injury. Never use with one hand. Always plan your cut and escape path.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach Guide Bar and Chain: Place bar onto mounting studs. Loop chain onto bar with cutting edges facing forward. Ensure chain fits into bar groove and drive links engage with sprocket.
  2. Adjust Chain Tension: Use tensioning knob to tighten until chain snaps back when pulled from bar. Do not over-tighten.
  3. Fill Oil Tank: Use recommended bar and chain oil. Fill to level indicated in window.
  4. Power Cord: Ensure chainsaw is off. Plug into appropriate grounded outlet.

CAUTION! Ensure chain is correctly installed and tensioned before operation to prevent derailment or damage.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main Controls: On/Off Trigger Switch, Safety Lock-Off Button, Chain Brake/Hand Guard, Chain Tensioning Knob, Oiler Adjustment (if applicable).

Components: Motor Housing, Rear Handle, Front Handle, Guide Bar, Chain, Bar Cover, Oil Filler Cap, Cord Strain Relief.

Operation: Press safety lock-off, then squeeze trigger to start. Release trigger to stop. Engage chain brake by pushing hand guard forward. Adjust oil flow (some models) via screw near oil tank.

Operation Guide

Starting and Basic Cutting Techniques.

  1. Pre-Operation Check: Verify chain tension, oil level, chain sharpness, and that bar cover is removed.
  2. Starting: Place on ground, foot in rear handle. Press lock-off, squeeze trigger.
  3. Making a Cut: Let chain reach full speed before contacting wood. Use lower part of bar, not tip. Apply light feed pressure.
  4. Buckling (Cutting Fallen Log): Support log off ground. Cut from top down, avoiding contact with soil.
  5. Limbing (Removing Branches): Work from trunk outward. Keep saw stable.
  6. Pruning: Make undercut first, then top cut to avoid bark tearing.

Tip: Never force the saw. Let the chain do the work. Stop immediately if unusual noise or vibration occurs.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures performance and longevity. Always unplug before servicing.

  1. After Each Use: Clean sawdust from housing, bar, chain, and air vents using a brush or compressed air.
  2. Chain Lubrication: Check oil level before each use. Refill with high-quality bar and chain oil.
  3. Air Filter: Clean periodically (if applicable) according to model.
  4. General Inspection: Regularly check for loose screws, damaged cord, worn chain, and bar groove wear.

CAUTION! Do not use gasoline, solvents, or water for cleaning. They can damage plastic parts and electrical components.

Chain Sharpening & Replacement

A sharp chain is essential for safe and efficient operation.

  1. Sharpening: Use correct round file size for your chain pitch. File each cutter at the manufacturer's specified angle (typically 30°). Maintain equal file strokes per cutter. File depth gauges (rakers) with a flat file and gauge.
  2. Replacement: When cutters are worn beyond repair or damaged. Unplug saw. Remove bar nuts. Replace with identical chain specification (Pitch, Gauge, Drive Link count). Retension new chain.
  3. Bar Maintenance: Clean bar groove. Flip bar periodically for even wear. Replace if excessively worn or damaged.

WARNING! Always wear heavy gloves when handling the chain. A dull chain increases kickback risk.

Storage

Store in a dry, secure place out of reach of children.

  1. Clean the entire chainsaw thoroughly.
  2. Empty the oil tank or fill it completely to prevent moisture buildup.
  3. Apply a light coat of oil to the guide bar and chain to prevent rust.
  4. Attach the bar cover.
  5. Coil the power cord neatly without sharp bends.
  6. Store in its original case or a protective cover.

CAUTION! Do not store outdoors or in damp locations.
