Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Wear appropriate PPE.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and chainsaw chaps or pants.
  2. Clear Work Area: Ensure no bystanders, especially children or pets, are within 15 metres.
  3. Inspect Chainsaw: Check for loose parts, damaged chain, or leaks before each use.
  4. Fuel Safety: Refuel outdoors, with engine off and cool. Use clean, fresh fuel mix.
  5. Kickback Zone: Avoid contact with the upper tip of the guide bar to prevent kickback.

WARNING! Kickback can cause severe injury. Always hold saw firmly with both hands. Never operate above shoulder height or on a ladder.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach Guide Bar & Chain: Loosen bar nuts. Fit bar over studs. Place chain over sprocket and bar, ensuring cutting teeth face forward on top. Tighten bar nuts finger-tight.
  2. Tension Chain: Use bar-tensioning screw to adjust until chain fits snugly against bar but can be pulled around by hand. Fully tighten bar nuts.
  3. Fill Fuel Tank: Use fresh unleaded petrol mixed with 2-stroke oil at a 25:1 ratio (40 ml oil per 1 litre petrol). Shake well before filling.
  4. Fill Oil Tank: Use quality chainsaw bar and chain oil. Do not use waste oil.
  5. Check Controls: Ensure throttle trigger, throttle lock, and chain brake function correctly.

CAUTION! Ensure chain is correctly installed and tensioned before starting. A loose chain can derail; an overtightened chain can damage the engine.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Front Handle: Contains throttle trigger and throttle lock. Rear Handle: Contains ON/OFF switch. Top: Chain brake lever/hand guard. Side: Primer bulb, choke lever, starter grip.

Key Controls:

Starting & Stopping the Engine

Starting (Cold Engine):

  1. Place saw on firm, flat ground. Ensure chain is clear of obstructions.
  2. Engage chain brake by pushing hand guard forward.
  3. Move ON/OFF switch to "I" (ON).
  4. Set choke lever to full choke position.
  5. Press primer bulb 5-6 times.
  6. Place foot in rear handle, hold front handle firmly, pull starter cord briskly 3-5 times until engine 'pops'.
  7. Move choke lever to half-choke position.
  8. Pull starter cord again until engine starts. Let engine run for 10 seconds.
  9. Disengage chain brake by pulling hand guard back towards you. Saw is ready.

Starting (Warm Engine): Skip choke and primer steps. Use half-choke if necessary.

Stopping: Release throttle. Move ON/OFF switch to "O" (OFF).

Operating the Chainsaw

  1. Stance: Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, left foot slightly forward for balance.
  2. Grip: Hold front handle with left hand, rear handle with right hand. Thumbs must wrap underneath handles.
  3. Cutting: Let the chain do the work. Apply light downward pressure. Do not force the saw.
  4. Bucking (Cutting Fallen Logs): Support log off ground. Cut from top down. Beware of pinch points.
  5. Limbing (Removing Branches): Work from trunk outward. Let branches fall freely. Do not cut above shoulder height.
  6. Kickback Prevention: Be aware of the guide bar tip. Do not let it contact wood, ground, or other objects during operation.

WARNING! Always operate at full throttle when cutting. Never operate with one hand.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Perform maintenance with engine off, spark plug disconnected.

CAUTION! Never use water or high-pressure cleaners. Allow engine to cool completely before maintenance.

Chain Sharpening & Tensioning

Sharpening: Use a 4.0 mm (5/32") round file and file guide. Maintain 30° cutting angle and 10° top plate angle. File all cutters to equal length. File depth gauges with a flat file and gauge tool.

Tensioning: Chain should be snug against bar but pull freely by hand. Loosen bar nuts. Turn tensioning screw clockwise to tighten. Retighten bar nuts. Re-check tension when chain is cold and again after 2 minutes of operation.

Tip: A sharp chain cuts faster, produces less sawdust, and reduces operator fatigue and risk of kickback.

Storage

  1. Long-Term Storage (>30 days): Drain all fuel from tank and carburettor. Run engine until it stops to clear fuel lines.
  2. Chain & Bar: Remove, clean, and coat with oil to prevent rust.
  3. Clean Entire Unit: Remove all sawdust and debris.
  4. Storage Location: Store in a dry, locked place out of reach of children.

WARNING! Storing with fuel in the carburettor can cause gumming and starting problems.

Troubleshooting
