Safety Information

Read all instructions before use. Always wear appropriate safety gear.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment: Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and close-fitting clothing.
  2. Work Area Safety: Keep bystanders and pets at least 15 feet away. Ensure stable footing.
  3. Electrical Safety: Use grounded outlet only. Keep cord away from cutting area and sharp edges.
  4. Kickback Awareness: Be aware of kickback zone (upper quadrant of bar tip). Use both hands.
  5. Chain Brake Test: Test chain brake before each use by pushing forward on front hand guard.

WARNING! Never operate chainsaw above shoulder height or on a ladder. Do not cut near electrical wires.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach Guide Bar: Place bar onto mounting studs, aligning adjustment pin with hole in bar.
  2. Install Chain: Place chain over bar, ensuring cutting teeth face forward on top of bar.
  3. Tension Chain: Turn tensioning knob clockwise until chain fits snug against bar (should lift slightly from bar in middle).
  4. Fill Oil Reservoir: Use Oregon bar and chain oil only. Fill to MAX line via fill cap.
  5. Plug In: Ensure switch is OFF before connecting to 120V grounded outlet.

CAUTION! Always wear cut-resistant gloves when handling chain. Ensure chain is properly tensioned before operation.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main Controls: On/Off switch with safety lock, chain brake lever, tensioning knob, oil fill cap.

Front Handle: Contains trigger switch with safety lock, hand guard/chain brake lever. Rear Handle: Main grip with cord strain relief. Side Panel: Tensioning knob, oil sight window, fill cap.

Operation: Press safety lock and trigger to start. Release trigger to stop. Push hand guard forward to engage chain brake. Maintenance: Tensioning knob for chain adjustment. Fill cap for oil replenishment.

Operation Instructions

Starting and basic cutting techniques.

  1. Pre-Operation Check: Verify chain tension, oil level, chain brake function, and clear work area.
  2. Starting: Place on ground, press safety lock, then squeeze trigger. Allow chain to reach full speed before cutting.
  3. Basic Cutting: Use lower part of bar for cutting. Let chain do the work; avoid forcing.
  4. Bucking: Support log properly. Cut from top down, avoiding ground contact.
  5. Limbing: Work from trunk outward. Be aware of springback on branches.
  6. Stopping: Release trigger. Engage chain brake when not actively cutting.

Tip: Periodically check oil output by pointing bar tip at light surface; fine oil mist should be visible.

Chain Maintenance

Proper chain care ensures optimal performance and safety.

  1. Sharpening: Use Oregon round file and guide. Maintain 30-degree cutting angle. File all cutters evenly.
  2. Tensioning: Chain should be snug but pull freely around bar. Re-tension when chain sags (every 10-15 minutes of initial use).
  3. Lubrication: Check oil level frequently. Use only recommended bar and chain oil.
  4. Depth Gauge: Maintain proper depth gauge clearance (use depth gauge tool).
  5. Chain Rotation: Rotate bar periodically for even wear.
  6. Replacement: Replace chain when cutters are worn beyond repair or damaged.

WARNING! Always disconnect power before performing maintenance. Never operate with dull or damaged chain.

Cleaning & Storage

Unplug and clean after each use. Store in dry, secure location.

  1. Cleaning: Wipe exterior with damp cloth. Clean bar groove and oil ports with brush.
  2. Chain: Remove chain periodically, clean in kerosene, dry thoroughly, soak in oil before reinstallation.
  3. Storage: Empty oil reservoir or fill completely to prevent moisture. Cover bar with protective sleeve.
  4. Long-term: Store in original box or case in cool, dry place away from children.

CAUTION! Do not use water or solvents on motor housing. Never store with fuel (gas models) in enclosed space.
