Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Always wear protective gear.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and steel-toe boots.
  2. Work Area Safety: Clear area of bystanders, especially children. Ensure secure footing.
  3. Kickback Awareness: Hold saw firmly with both hands; do not cut with tip of bar.
  4. Fuel Safety: Refuel in well-ventilated area, away from ignition sources. Use fresh fuel mix.
  5. Chain Brake Test: Test chain brake before each use.

WARNING! Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death. Never operate a chainsaw while tired, ill, or under the influence of drugs/alcohol.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach Guide Bar & Chain: Place bar over studs, align chain with sprocket, tension appropriately.
  2. Fill Fuel Tank: Use fresh gasoline and 2-stroke oil at ratio specified in manual (e.g., 50:1).
  3. Fill Chain Oil Tank: Use recommended bar and chain oil.
  4. Check Chain Tension: Chain should be snug but pull freely around bar.
  5. Inspect Controls: Ensure throttle trigger, throttle lockout, and chain brake function properly.

CAUTION! Ensure chain is installed with cutting teeth facing forward. Overtightening can damage bar and chain.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main Controls: Throttle trigger, throttle lockout, choke control, stop switch, chain brake lever, decompression valve (if equipped).

Components: Front handle with chain brake, rear handle with throttle trigger, fuel tank cap, oil tank cap, air filter cover, spark plug, muffler, guide bar, chain, chain tensioner, and pull starter.

Operation: Engage throttle lockout before pulling throttle trigger. Use choke for cold starts. Activate chain brake by pushing front hand guard forward. Use decompression valve to reduce starting effort.

Starting & Stopping

Starting Procedure (Cold Engine):

  1. Place saw on firm ground, clear of debris.
  2. Engage chain brake.
  3. Move choke lever to FULL CHOKE position.
  4. Press decompression valve (if equipped).
  5. Pull starter cord briskly 3-5 times until engine "pops".
  6. Move choke to HALF CHOKE position.
  7. Pull starter cord again until engine starts.
  8. Allow engine to warm up for 30 seconds, then move choke to RUN.
  9. Disengage chain brake before cutting.

Stopping: Release throttle, allow engine to idle, press STOP switch to OFF.

Tip: For warm restart, use HALF CHOKE or RUN position only.

Operating Procedures

Basic Cutting Techniques:

  1. Felling: Plan escape path. Make notch cut, then felling cut. Use wedges if needed.
  2. Limbing: Stand on opposite side of log. Cut from top down, supporting limb if necessary.
  3. Bucking: Support log off ground. Cut from top, avoid pinching chain.
  4. Pruning: Use bottom of bar for control. Do not cut above shoulder height.

Kickback Prevention: Hold saw firmly with both hands, thumbs wrapped. Do not cut with upper tip of bar. Maintain high chain speed during cut. Be aware of wood tension.

WARNING! Always cut at full throttle. Never operate with one hand. Watch for falling branches.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Daily/Pre-Use Checks:

  1. Chain Sharpness & Tension: Sharpen as needed; adjust tension when cool.
  2. Chain Brake Function: Test by pushing hand guard forward.
  3. Air Filter: Clean with soapy water if dirty; dry completely.
  4. Bar & Sprocket: Clean oil holes; check for wear.
  5. Fasteners: Tighten all nuts and bolts.

Weekly/Monthly: Clean cooling fins, check spark plug, clean fuel filter, inspect anti-vibration elements.

CAUTION! Always disconnect spark plug wire before performing maintenance. Use only recommended parts and lubricants.

Chain Sharpening & Tensioning

Sharpening: Use correct round file size (e.g., 5/32" or 3/16"). File each cutter at recommended angle (typically 30°). Maintain equal length on all cutters. File depth gauges with flat file and gauge.

Tensioning: Loosen bar nuts. Adjust tensioning screw until chain fits snug against bar but can be pulled around by hand. Tighten bar nuts. Recheck tension after running saw for a minute.

Tip: Sharpen chain frequently for best performance and safety. A dull chain increases kickback risk.

Storage Guidelines

Long-Term Storage (Over 30 Days):

  1. Drain fuel tank and run engine until it stops.
  2. Remove spark plug, add 1 teaspoon of oil to cylinder, pull starter slowly 2-3 times, reinstall plug.
  3. Clean entire saw, especially air filter and cooling fins.
  4. Remove chain, clean and soak in oil. Store bar coated with oil.
  5. Store in dry, cool place, away from children.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank for extended periods. Fuel can degrade and damage carburetor.

Troubleshooting

SymptomPossible CauseCorrective Action
