Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before operation. Always wear protective equipment.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and steel-toe boots.
  2. Work Area Safety: Clear area of bystanders, especially children. Ensure secure footing.
  3. Kickback Awareness: Be aware of kickback zone (upper quadrant of bar tip). Never cut with tip.
  4. Pre-Operation Check: Verify chain tension, sharpness, and lubrication before each use.

WARNING! Chainsaws are dangerous tools. Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death. Never operate when tired or under the influence.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all components. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach Guide Bar & Chain: Place bar on mounting studs. Loop chain over sprocket and onto bar groove with cutters facing forward. Adjust tension.
  2. Fill Fuel: Use fresh unleaded petrol mixed with 2-stroke oil at 50:1 ratio (see section 7).
  3. Fill Chain Oil: Use proper chainsaw bar & chain oil. Do not use waste oil.
  4. Check Controls: Verify throttle trigger, choke, and chain brake move freely.

CAUTION! Ensure chain is properly tensioned—should snap back when pulled from middle of bar. Loose chain can derail.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main Controls: Front handle with chain brake, rear handle with throttle trigger, choke lever, primer bulb, stop switch.

Front Handle: Contains inertia-activated chain brake. Push forward to engage brake manually.

Rear Handle: Throttle trigger with safety lockout (must be depressed before throttle engages).

Choke Lever: Three positions: RUN (normal operation), START (choke on for cold start), STOP (engine off).

Primer Bulb: Press 5-6 times before cold start to draw fuel into carburetor.

Chain Tensioner: Side-mounted screw for adjusting chain tension.

Fuel & Oil Mixing

Use fresh unleaded petrol (min 90 octane) and high-quality 2-stroke engine oil.

  1. Mix Ratio: 50 parts petrol to 1 part oil (2% oil).
  2. Example: For 5 litres of petrol, add 100ml of 2-stroke oil.
  3. Mixing: Use approved fuel container. Add oil first, then petrol. Shake thoroughly.
  4. Storage: Use fuel within 30 days. Do not mix more than needed.

WARNING! Never use straight petrol or automotive motor oil. This will cause immediate engine seizure. Never mix fuel near open flame or sparks.

Starting & Operation

Starting Procedure (Cold Engine):

  1. Place on flat, clear ground. Engage chain brake.
  2. Move choke lever to START position.
  3. Press primer bulb 5-6 times until fuel is visible.
  4. Hold rear handle with right foot, pull starter cord briskly 2-3 times until engine 'pops'.
  5. Move choke to RUN position.
  6. Pull starter cord again until engine starts.
  7. Allow 30-second warm-up at idle before cutting.

Cutting Techniques: Use full throttle when cutting. Let chain do the work—do not force. Be aware of pinch points, especially when cutting logs under tension.

Chain Maintenance

Regular chain maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety.

  1. Sharpening: Use round file matching chain pitch (5/32" for 3/8" pitch). Maintain 30° filing angle. File all cutters evenly.
  2. Tensioning: Chain should be snug against bar but pull freely by hand. Re-tension when chain sags (check every 10-15 minutes during initial use).
  3. Lubrication: Check oil flow before each use. Chain should throw light oil mist during operation. Adjust oiler screw if needed.

CAUTION! Always wear heavy gloves when handling chain. Disconnect spark plug wire before maintenance.

Storage & Winterization

For storage exceeding 30 days:

  1. Drain all fuel from tank and carburetor.
  2. Run engine until it stops to clear fuel lines.
  3. Remove chain, clean, and soak in oil. Clean bar groove.
  4. Store in dry, cool place away from children.

Tip: Use fuel stabilizer if storing with fuel for short periods.
