Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Always wear protective equipment.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps/pants, and steel-toe boots.
  2. Work area safety: Clear area of obstacles, ensure secure footing, keep bystanders away.
  3. Kickback prevention: Hold saw firmly with both hands, avoid tip contact, use reduced-kickback chain.
  4. Fuel safety: Refuel outdoors, away from ignition sources, with engine off and cool.

WARNING! Chainsaws are dangerous tools. Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death. Never operate when tired or under the influence.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach guide bar and chain: Place bar on mounting studs, fit chain around sprocket and bar, adjust tension.
  2. Fill fuel tank: Use fresh gasoline mixed with 2-stroke oil at specified ratio (e.g., 50:1).
  3. Fill chain oil tank: Use proper bar and chain oil.
  4. Check all fasteners: Ensure all nuts and bolts are tight.

CAUTION! Always check chain tension before each use. A loose chain can derail; an overtightened chain can damage the engine.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main controls located on the rear handle and body.

Rear Handle: Throttle trigger, Safety trigger lock, Chain brake lever (front guard), Hand guard.

Body: Choke lever, Decompression valve (if equipped), Primer bulb, On/Off switch, Fuel tank cap, Chain oil tank cap, Air filter cover, Spark plug cover, Muffler.

Operation: Engage safety lock, pull choke, press decompression valve, pull starter cord. Disengage choke as engine warms. Use throttle trigger to control chain speed.

Starting & Operation

Starting procedure for cold and warm engines.

  1. Place saw on clear, level ground. Engage chain brake.
  2. Set On/Off switch to ON. Pull choke lever out (cold start only).
  3. Press decompression valve (if equipped). Pump primer bulb 5-6 times.
  4. Hold front handle with left hand, place right foot in rear handle. Pull starter cord sharply until engine fires.
  5. Push choke lever in halfway. Pull starter cord again until engine starts.
  6. Disengage chain brake before cutting.

Tip: Never drop-start a chainsaw. Always start on the ground with secure footing.

Cutting Techniques

Basic cutting methods for felling, limbing, and bucking.

  1. Felling (cutting down a tree): Plan escape path. Make notch cut on falling side, then back cut.
  2. Limbing (removing branches): Work from trunk outward. Keep saw between you and branch.
  3. Bucking (cutting felled tree): Support log off ground. Cut from top, avoid pinching blade.
  4. Use full throttle during cuts. Let chain do the work; don't force it.
  5. Be aware of kickback zone (upper quadrant of bar tip).

WARNING! Beware of spring poles and tensioned wood. Never cut above shoulder height. Always maintain secure footing and balance.

Maintenance & Storage

Regular maintenance ensures performance and longevity.

Daily: Clean air filter, check chain tension and sharpness, inspect guide bar for wear, check all fasteners.

Weekly: Clean cooling fins, check spark plug, clean fuel filter.

Seasonal/Storage: Drain fuel tank and run carburetor dry, or add fuel stabilizer. Clean entire saw. Remove chain and store in oil. Store in dry, secure place.

Chain & Bar Care

Proper care extends life of cutting components.

  1. Sharpening: Use round file and guide. Maintain correct filing angle (typically 30°). File all cutters evenly.
  2. Depth gauges: File down rakers (depth gauges) periodically to maintain proper height difference.
  3. Bar maintenance: Clean bar groove, flip bar regularly for even wear, lubricate sprocket tip.
  4. Chain tension: Adjust when chain sags from bar. Proper tension: chain should snap back when pulled from bar.

CAUTION! Always wear gloves when handling chain. A sharp chain is safer and more efficient than a dull one.
