Safety Information

Read all instructions before use. Wear proper safety gear.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment: Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toed boots, and chainsaw chaps.
  2. Work Area Safety: Clear area of obstacles and bystanders. Ensure secure footing.
  3. Chain Brake: Test brake before each use. Engage when carrying or not cutting.
  4. Kickback Awareness: Hold saw firmly with both hands. Avoid tip contact.

WARNING! Chainsaws are dangerous. Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death. Keep hands away from chain. Never operate when tired or under influence.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach Guide Bar & Chain: Place bar on mounting studs. Loop chain around bar with cutting teeth facing forward. Adjust tension.
  2. Fill Fuel Tank: Use fresh gasoline mixed with 2-stroke oil (50:1 ratio). Do not use old or ethanol-blended fuel if possible.
  3. Fill Chain Oil Tank: Use proper bar and chain oil. Check oil flow before operation.
  4. Check Controls: Ensure throttle trigger, lockout, and chain brake function properly.

CAUTION! Fuel is flammable. Refuel outdoors with engine off and cool. Wipe spills immediately.

Controls and Components

Main Controls: Front Handle with throttle trigger, Rear Handle, Chain Brake lever, Throttle Lockout, Choke, Primer bulb, Stop switch.

Components: Spark plug, Air filter, Muffler, Chain catcher, Right-hand guard, Chain tensioning screw, Fuel cap, Oil cap.

Operation: Set choke for cold start. Pull starter cord firmly. Disengage choke as engine warms. Use throttle trigger for power. Engage chain brake when pausing.

Starting & Operating

Starting Procedure (Cold Engine):

  1. Place saw on flat ground. Engage chain brake.
  2. Press primer bulb 5-6 times.
  3. Set choke to full position.
  4. Pull starter cord sharply until engine 'pops'.
  5. Move choke to half position. Pull cord to start.
  6. Allow to warm up at idle for 30 seconds. Disengage chain brake.

Cutting Techniques: Use lower part of bar for cutting. Let saw do the work. Do not force. Beware of pinch points.

Chain & Bar Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety.

  1. Chain Sharpening: Use round file and guide. Maintain 30° cutting angle. File all cutters evenly.
  2. Chain Tension: Check frequently. Proper tension: chain snug against bar but pullable by hand.
  3. Bar Maintenance: Clean bar groove. Flip bar periodically for even wear.
  4. Oiler Check: Ensure oil port is clear. Adjust oil flow if adjustable.

Tip: Keep chain sharp. Dull chain causes excessive wear and dangerous kickback.

Engine Maintenance

Air Filter: Clean regularly. Replace if damaged. Spark Plug: Clean and gap to 0.025". Replace annually. Fuel Filter: Replace yearly. Carburetor: Adjust only if necessary (refer to service manual).

CAUTION! Always disconnect spark plug wire before performing maintenance.

Storage

Long-term Storage (>30 days):

  1. Drain fuel tank and run engine until it stops.
  2. Remove spark plug, add 1 tsp oil to cylinder, pull starter slowly to coat.
  3. Clean entire saw. Apply oil to bar and chain.
  4. Store in dry, cool place away from children.

WARNING! Storing with fuel can cause carburetor damage and starting problems.
