Safety Information

Always wear proper PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and steel-toe boots.

  1. Clear work area of debris and bystanders.
  2. Check chain tension and sharpness before each use.
  3. Always engage chain brake when carrying or not cutting.
  4. Never operate above shoulder height or on a ladder.
  5. Be aware of kickback zone (upper quarter of bar tip).

WARNING! Gasoline is highly flammable. Refuel in well-ventilated area with engine off and cool. No smoking.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assembly requires bar, chain, and handle attachment.

  1. Attach handle: Secure with provided bolts and wrench.
  2. Install bar and chain: Place bar over studs, loop chain over sprocket and bar, adjust tension.
  3. Fill oil tank: Use bar and chain oil only.
  4. Mix fuel: 50:1 ratio (2.6 oz oil per 1 gallon of 89+ octane gasoline).
  5. Prime and start: Follow starting procedure.

CAUTION! Ensure all fasteners are tight before operation. Chain should move freely without binding.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Right side: Throttle trigger, throttle lockout, front handle. Left side: Rear handle, choke lever, primer bulb, stop switch. Top: Decompression valve, spark plug. Front: Chain brake lever, bar cover.

Operation Controls: Throttle trigger (speed control), throttle lockout (safety), choke (cold starts), primer (fuel delivery), stop switch (engine kill), chain brake (kickback protection).

Maintenance: Chain tension knob (side access), oil fill cap, fuel fill cap, air filter cover, spark plug access.

Fuel & Oil Mixture

Use fresh 89+ octane unleaded gasoline and ISO-L-EGD or JASO FD certified 2-stroke oil.

  1. Mix at 50:1 ratio: 2.6 fl oz (77 ml) oil per 1 gallon (3.8 L) gasoline.
  2. Shake well in approved fuel container.
  3. Fill fuel tank to 80% capacity to allow for expansion.
  4. Use bar and chain oil in separate oil tank (do not mix with fuel).

Tip: Never use automotive motor oil or old gasoline. Use fuel within 30 days.

Starting & Operation

Starting procedure (cold engine):

  1. Place on flat, clear surface. Engage chain brake.
  2. Move stop switch to ON position.
  3. Pull choke lever to FULL CHOKE position.
  4. Press primer bulb 5-6 times until fuel is visible.
  5. Press decompression valve (if equipped).
  6. Pull starter cord briskly 2-3 times until engine fires.
  7. Move choke to HALF position, pull until engine starts.
  8. Warm up at idle for 30 seconds before cutting.

WARNING! Always hold firmly with both hands. Never drop-start or start in a tree.

Chain Maintenance

Daily chain care ensures performance and safety.

  1. Tension: Chain should snap back when pulled from bar (not sag). Adjust with side knob when cool.
  2. Sharpening: Use round file (5/32") and guide. Maintain 30° angle, equal strokes per tooth.
  3. Depth gauges: File down with flat file when 0.025" below cutting edge.
  4. Lubrication: Check oil flow by pointing at light surface—should throw thin line of oil.

CAUTION! Always wear gloves when handling chain. Disconnect spark plug during maintenance.

Storage & Winterization

For storage over 30 days:

  1. Drain fuel tank and run until engine stops.
  2. Remove spark plug, add 1 tsp oil, pull starter 2-3 times, reinstall plug.
  3. Clean air filter, bar groove, and cooling fins.
  4. Remove chain, clean, soak in oil, reinstall loosely.
  5. Store in dry place, covered, away from ignition sources.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank. Fuel can degrade and damage carburetor.
