Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach Guide Bar & Chain: Place bar onto sprocket, loop chain around bar with cutting teeth facing forward, adjust tension.
  2. Install Bar Nut & Cover: Secure with provided nuts and cover.
  3. Fill Fuel: Mix gasoline with 2-stroke oil at 50:1 ratio (see section 7).
  4. Fill Chain Oil: Use SAE 30 bar & chain oil in separate reservoir.
  5. Check Controls: Ensure throttle, trigger, and chain brake move freely.

WARNING! Always wear cut-resistant gloves during assembly. Ensure chain is properly tensioned before use.

First-Time Operation

Before starting, read all safety instructions. Operate outdoors only.

  1. Place saw on flat ground, clear of debris.
  2. Engage chain brake by pushing forward.
  3. Set choke to full position (cold start).
  4. Press primer bulb 5-6 times.
  5. Pull starter cord briskly until engine fires.
  6. Move choke to half position, pull again to start.
  7. Allow 30-second warm-up at idle before cutting.

CAUTION! Keep hands and feet clear of chain. Never drop-start the saw.

Specifications

Controls and Functions

Main Controls: Throttle trigger, throttle lockout, choke lever, primer bulb, chain brake, stop switch.

Handle Areas: Front handle with chain brake lever; rear handle with throttle trigger and lockout.

Operation: Squeeze throttle lockout and trigger to increase RPM. Push chain brake forward to engage (stops chain); pull back to disengage. Choke has three positions: Run, Half Choke (start warm), Full Choke (cold start). Stop switch stops engine.

Fuel & Oil Mixing

Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum) and high-quality 2-stroke engine oil.

  1. Mix Ratio: 50:1 (2.6 oz oil per 1 gallon gas).
  2. Use clean, approved fuel container.
  3. Add oil to gas, shake thoroughly.
  4. Fill fuel tank only when engine is cool.
  5. Chain Oil: Fill separate reservoir with SAE 30 bar & chain oil.

Tip: Never use automotive motor oil or old fuel mix. Discard fuel mix older than 30 days.

Cutting Techniques

Supports felling, limbing, bucking, and pruning.

  1. Stance: Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, firm grip on handles.
  2. Starting Cut: Allow chain to reach full speed before contacting wood.
  3. Felling: Use notch and backcut technique; plan escape path.
  4. Limbing: Cut from trunk outward, support limb if possible.
  5. Bucking: Support log off ground; cut from top down.
  6. Kickback Prevention: Avoid upper quadrant of bar tip; maintain secure grip.
  7. After Cut: Allow chain to stop before moving saw.

WARNING! Always cut at waist level or below. Never operate above shoulder height.

Safety Features

Chain Brake: Inertia-activated; stops chain if kickback occurs. Throttle Lockout: Must be depressed before throttle engages. Right-Hand Guard: Protects from debris. Anti-Vibration: Reduces fatigue. Stop Switch: Immediate engine shut-off.

Care & Maintenance

Clean after each use. Check chain tension frequently. Sharpen chain when dull.

  1. Air Filter: Clean every 5 hours; replace if damaged.
  2. Spark Plug: Check gap (0.025"); replace every 100 hours.
  3. Chain Sharpening: Use round file matching chain pitch; maintain 30° angle.
  4. Bar Maintenance: Clean bar groove; flip bar weekly for even wear.
  5. Storage: Drain fuel or add stabilizer; store in dry place.

CAUTION! Disconnect spark plug before performing maintenance. Use only genuine parts.
