Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and assemble your chainsaw for first use.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and inspect for damage.
  2. Attach guide bar: Loosen nuts on sprocket cover, position bar over studs, align chain drive links with sprocket, replace cover and hand-tighten nuts.
  3. Install chain: Ensure cutting teeth face forward on top of bar. Adjust tension (see Section 7).
  4. Fill fuel tank: Use fresh 50:1 gasoline/oil mixture (see Section 6).
  5. Fill oil tank: Use quality bar and chain oil.
  6. Check chain brake: Pull front hand guard back toward handle; it should engage with a click. Push forward to disengage.

CAUTION! Do not attempt to start the saw until assembly is complete and chain tension is correctly set.

Controls & Operation

Starting, running, and stopping procedures.

Cold Start:

  1. Place saw on firm, flat ground. Engage chain brake.
  2. Press decompression valve (if equipped).
  3. Set choke lever to FULL CHOKE position.
  4. Press fuel primer bulb 5-6 times until fuel is visible.
  5. Pull starter rope briskly until engine 'pops'.
  6. Move choke lever to HALF CHOKE.
  7. Pull starter rope again until engine starts.
  8. Allow to idle for 10 seconds, then squeeze throttle to disengage choke.

Warm Start: Choke OFF. Follow steps 4, 7, and 8.

Cutting: Disengage chain brake. Hold saw firmly. Apply light pressure; let the chain do the work. Avoid pinching the bar.

Stopping: Release throttle, allow to idle, push STOP switch to OFF.

Fuel & Lubrication

Use only high-quality, fresh fuel and lubricants.

  1. Fuel Mix: 50:1 ratio. Use 89+ octane unleaded gasoline mixed with JASO FD or ISO-L-EGD certified 2-stroke oil.
  2. Mixing: Add oil to an approved fuel can, then add gasoline. Shake well before refueling.
  3. Bar & Chain Oil: Use a quality oil with tackifiers for high-adhesion. Check oil flow before each use.
  4. Refueling: Stop engine and allow to cool. Clean area around caps. Fill tanks slowly to avoid spills. Tighten caps securely.

WARNING! Never use straight gasoline, automotive motor oil, or dirty/old fuel mix. Never refuel a hot engine.

Chain Installation & Tensioning

Proper chain installation and tension are critical for safety and performance.

  1. Loosen the two nuts on the sprocket cover.
  2. Lift the cover and remove the bar.
  3. Place the chain over the drive sprocket, ensuring drive links engage.
  4. Position the bar over the studs, aligning the chain with the bar groove.
  5. Replace the cover and hand-tighten nuts.
  6. Tensioning: Lift the tip of the bar. Using a scrench, turn the tensioning screw clockwise until the chain is snug against the bar but can still be pulled around by hand.
  7. Tighten the two cover nuts securely (torque: 8-10 Nm).
  8. Re-check tension after tightening; it may loosen slightly.

CAUTION! A loose chain can derail. An overtightened chain can damage the bar, sprocket, and engine. Check tension frequently during initial use.

Maintenance Schedule

IntervalTask
Before each useCheck chain tension, sharpness, and lubrication. Inspect for loose fasteners. Check fuel/oil levels.
Every 5 hoursClean air filter. Check spark plug condition.
Every 10 hoursClean cooling fins and cylinder area. Clean spark arrestor screen in muffler.
Every 20 hoursClean fuel filter in tank. Inspect anti-vibration elements.
Every 50 hoursReplace spark plug. Clean carburetor air intake. Check clutch and sprocket for wear.
Seasonally / 100 hrsReplace fuel filter. Inspect/replace guide bar. Replace chain.

Note: Maintenance intervals may vary with operating conditions. More frequent maintenance is required in dusty or severe conditions.

Storage Guidelines

Proper storage prevents fuel system issues and corrosion.

  1. Short-term (under 30 days): Run engine until fuel tank is empty. Store in a dry, secure location.
  2. Long-term (over 30 days):
    • Drain all fuel from tank and carburetor.
    • Start and run engine until it stops to clear fuel lines.
    • Remove spark plug, add 1 tsp of 2-stroke oil into cylinder, pull starter slowly 2-3 times to coat internals, reinstall plug.
    • Clean entire saw thoroughly.
    • Remove chain, clean, and soak in oil. Store separately.
    • Store in a cool, dry place, covered to prevent dust.

CAUTION! Never store a saw with fuel in the tank or carburetor for extended periods. Stale fuel will gum up the carburetor.
