Safety Information

Read all instructions before operation. Wear proper safety gear.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment: Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and steel-toe boots.
  2. Work Area Safety: Clear area of bystanders, especially children. Ensure secure footing.
  3. Kickback Awareness: Be aware of kickback zone (upper quadrant of bar tip). Maintain firm grip.
  4. Fuel Safety: Refuel outdoors, away from ignition sources. Allow engine to cool.

WARNING! Chainsaws are dangerous tools. Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death. Always engage chain brake when not actively cutting.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach Guide Bar: Place bar over studs, align chain with sprocket, adjust tension.
  2. Install Chain: Ensure cutting teeth face forward on top of bar. Check direction.
  3. Add Bar & Chain Oil: Fill reservoir with quality chainsaw bar oil.
  4. Fuel Mix: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (minimum 89 octane) mixed with 2-cycle oil at 50:1 ratio (2.6 oz oil per gallon). Shake well.
  5. Final Check: Verify all fasteners are tight. Chain should move freely with proper tension.

CAUTION! Never operate with loose components. Ensure chain brake functions before starting.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main Components: Front handle with chain brake, Rear handle with throttle trigger, Throttle lockout, Choke control, Decompression valve, Primer bulb, Master control lever.

Control Locations: Master Control Lever (combines choke/start/run positions), Chain Brake lever (front handle), Throttle Trigger & Lockout (rear handle), Decompression Button (left side), Primer Bulb (carburetor cover).

Operation: Set master control to START/CHOKE for cold starts. Push decompression valve before pulling starter. Engage throttle lockout before squeezing trigger. Activate chain brake by pushing forward on front hand guard.

Starting Procedure

Cold Start (engine not warm):

  1. Place on flat, clear surface. Engage chain brake.
  2. - Press decompression valve. - Set master control to CHOKE position (full up). - Press primer bulb 5-6 times until fuel visible. - Pull starter rope sharply until engine "pops." - Move master control to START position (middle). - Pull starter rope again until engine starts. - Allow to idle for 10-15 seconds, then move to RUN.

Warm Start: Master control to START position only. No choke or priming needed.

Tip: Never drop-start or start above waist height. Always maintain secure footing.

Operating Instructions

Proper cutting techniques for safety and efficiency.

  1. Felling Trees: Plan escape path (45° behind). Make notch cut (1/3 diameter), then back cut. Use wedges for large trees.
  2. Limbing: Work from trunk outward. Support limbs when possible. Beware of springback.
  3. Bucking (cutting logs): Support log off ground. Cut from top down. Avoid contacting ground with chain.
  4. Kickback Prevention: Keep firm grip, right thumb under handle. Do not cut with bar tip. Maintain chain sharpness.
  5. Chain Brake Test: Regularly test by engaging brake at idle—chain should stop immediately.

WARNING! Never operate above shoulder height. Do not cut with one hand. Always shut off engine before adjusting or transporting.

Maintenance Schedule

Daily/Before Use: Check chain tension, sharpness, and lubrication. Inspect for loose fasteners. Clean air filter. Check fuel/oil levels.

Weekly: Clean cooling fins. Check spark plug condition. Inspect bar for wear (grooving). Clean chain brake mechanism.

Monthly: Replace spark plug (NGK BPMR7A). Clean fuel filter. Check carburetor adjustment.

Seasonal: Replace air filter. Clean fuel tank. Inspect anti-vibration mounts. Sharpen or replace chain as needed.

Chain Sharpening

Use round file (5/32" or 4.0mm) and file guide. Maintain 30° cutting angle.

  1. Secure bar in vise. Identify shortest cutter as reference.
  2. File from inside out, maintaining angle. Apply equal pressure on forward strokes.
  3. File all cutters to same length. Check depth gauges with gauge tool (file to 0.025").
  4. After sharpening, clean chain in kerosene, lubricate, and adjust tension.

CAUTION! Wear gloves when handling chain. Ensure proper filing direction to maintain cutting efficiency.

Storage Guidelines

Long-term storage (over 30 days):

  1. Drain fuel tank and run carburetor dry.
  2. Remove chain, clean in solvent, coat with oil.
  3. Clean entire saw, especially cooling fins and air filter.
  4. Store in dry, cool place with bar and chain separately.
  5. Cover to prevent dust accumulation.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank. Fuel deteriorates and can damage carburetor components.

Troubleshooting
