  2. Install cutting chain: Place chain around bar sprocket, ensure cutting teeth face forward.
  3. Adjust chain tension: Use tensioning screw to achieve proper slack (check manual).
  4. Fill fuel tank: Mix gasoline with 2-stroke oil at 50:1 ratio (check specific model).
  5. Fill oil tank: Use bar and chain oil only.

WARNING! Always wear protective gear: gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and chainsaw chaps. Never operate without proper training.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, complete these steps to ensure safe operation.

  1. Check chain tension: Chain should be snug but move freely by hand.
  2. Test chain brake: Engage brake lever to ensure chain stops immediately.
  3. Check throttle lock: Ensure throttle trigger locks when safety lever is not depressed.
  4. Start engine: Place on flat surface, set choke, pull starter cord until engine fires.
  5. Warm up: Allow engine to idle for 1-2 minutes before cutting.
