Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Always wear protective gear.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and chainsaw chaps.
  2. Work Area Safety: Clear area of bystanders, especially children. Ensure secure footing.
  3. Pre-Operation Check: Inspect chainsaw for damage, ensure chain is sharp and properly tensioned, check oil and fuel levels.
  4. Operating Precautions: Hold with both hands, do not overreach, cut at waist level or below, be aware of kickback.

WARNING! Kickback can cause severe injury. Keep chain sharp, maintain firm grip, and do not let bar nose contact wood.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble according to instructions.

  1. Attach Guide Bar and Chain: Place bar on mounting studs, loop chain around bar with cutting edges facing forward, adjust tension.
  2. Fill Oil Tank: Use recommended bar and chain oil. Check for leaks.
  3. Fuel Mix (Gas Models): Use fresh gasoline and 2-stroke oil at specified ratio (e.g., 50:1). Shake well.
  4. Battery (Electric Models): Insert fully charged battery according to model.
  5. Final Check: Ensure all fasteners are tight, chain moves freely, and safety features function.

CAUTION! Never refuel a hot engine. Allow to cool for 15 minutes.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main Controls: Throttle trigger, trigger lockout, chain brake lever, stop switch, choke (gas), primer bulb (gas).

Components: Front handle with handguard, rear handle, muffler, spark plug, air filter, fuel cap, oil cap, chain tensioner screw.

Operation: Engage trigger lockout before pulling throttle. Activate chain brake by pushing lever forward. Use stop switch to shut off engine/motor instantly.

Operation Guide

Starting Procedure (Gas):

  1. Place on clear, flat ground.
  2. Engage chain brake.
  3. Set choke to COLD START.
  4. Press primer bulb 5 times.
  5. Hold front handle with left hand, place right foot in rear handle.
  6. Pull starter cord briskly until engine fires.
  7. Move choke to RUN position.
  8. Disengage chain brake before cutting.

Cutting Techniques: Use lower part of bar for cutting. Let chain do the work; do not force. Plan escape path from falling wood.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures performance and safety.

  1. After Each Use: Clean saw of wood chips and debris. Check chain tension.
  2. Air Filter (Gas): Clean weekly; replace if damaged.
  3. Spark Plug (Gas): Check gap; replace annually or if fouled.
  4. Bar Maintenance: Clean bar groove; flip bar weekly for even wear.
  5. Chain Oiling: Ensure oiler is working; adjust flow if adjustable.

CAUTION! Disconnect spark plug wire (gas) or remove battery (electric) before maintenance.

Chain Sharpening & Replacement

A sharp chain is essential for safe, efficient cutting.

  1. Sharpening: Use correct round file size (typically 5/32" or 3/16"). File each cutter at specified angle (usually 30°). Maintain equal length on all cutters.
  2. Depth Gauges: File down depth gauges with flat file to maintain proper height difference.
  3. Replacement: Replace chain when cutters are worn beyond repair or damaged. Ensure new chain matches bar pitch/gauge.
  4. Tensioning: Chain should snap back when pulled from bar; adjust tensioner screw as needed.

Tip: Sharpen chain frequently (every 1-2 hours of use) for best results.

Storage Guidelines

Prepare chainsaw for storage to prevent damage.

  1. Short-Term (1-4 weeks): Drain fuel (gas models), run engine dry. Clean entire saw. Apply oil to chain and bar.
  2. Long-Term: Remove spark plug, add teaspoon of oil to cylinder, pull starter slowly to coat. Store in dry place, covered.
  3. Battery (Electric): Store at 40-80% charge in cool, dry location.

WARNING! Never store with fuel in tank indoors due to fire risk and fuel degradation.

Regulatory Information

Complies with relevant safety standards (e.g., ANSI B175.1, EPA Phase III emissions for gas models). Contains parts that may be hot during/after use. Keep away from flammable materials. For support, contact Lidl customer service or visit www.lidl.com.
