Safety Information

Read all instructions before use. Always wear appropriate PPE.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment: Wear safety helmet, hearing protection, eye protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and steel-toe boots.
  2. Work Area Safety: Clear area of bystanders, especially children. Ensure secure footing.
  3. Kickback Awareness: Hold saw firmly with both hands. Do not cut with tip of bar.
  4. Fuel Safety: Refuel in well-ventilated area, with engine off and cool. Use correct fuel/oil mix.

WARNING! Chainsaws are dangerous tools. Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death.

Assembly & First-Time Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach Guide Bar & Chain: Place bar on mounting studs. Loop chain around bar with cutting teeth facing forward on top. Adjust tension.
  2. Fill Fuel Tank: Use fresh gasoline (min. 89 octane) mixed with 2-stroke oil at 50:1 ratio (Jonsereds recommended oil).
  3. Fill Chain Oil Tank: Use proper bar and chain oil. Do not use waste oil.
  4. Check Chain Brake: Ensure brake functions by pulling guard forward towards bar. It should snap into place.

CAUTION! Ensure chain is properly tensioned—snug against bar but able to be pulled by hand.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main Controls: Throttle trigger, Throttle trigger lockout, Stop switch, Choke control, Chain brake handle, Decompression valve (if equipped).

Components: Front handguard, Rear handle, Fuel tank cap, Oil tank cap, Air filter cover, Spark plug, Muffler, Side-mounted chain tensioner.

Operation: Press throttle lockout and squeeze trigger to accelerate. Push stop switch to "0" to stop engine. Pull choke for cold starts.

Operation Guide

Starting Procedure (Cold Engine):

  1. Engage chain brake by pulling guard forward.
  2. Set stop switch to "I" (On).
  3. Pull choke control fully out.
  4. Press decompression valve (if equipped).
  5. Place saw on ground, hold rear handle with right foot, pull starter cord sharply until engine fires.
  6. Push choke in halfway, pull starter again until engine starts.
  7. Blip throttle to disengage fast idle. Disengage chain brake before cutting.

Cutting Techniques: Use lower part of bar. Let saw do the work—do not force. Be aware of pinch points and kickback zone.

Maintenance Schedule

Daily (Before Use): Check chain tension, sharpness, and lubrication. Check fuel and oil levels. Inspect for loose parts or damage.

Weekly: Clean air filter. Check spark plug condition. Clean cooling fins and muffler area.

Monthly: Clean fuel filter. Check anti-vibration elements. Inspect bar for wear and groove damage.

Annually: Have saw serviced by authorized dealer for carburetor adjustment, compression test, and overall inspection.

Chain & Bar Care

Sharpening: Use correct round file size (typically 4.0 mm or 5/32"). Maintain correct filing angle (usually 30°). File all cutters evenly.

Bar Maintenance: Clean bar groove regularly. Flip bar weekly for even wear. Dress bar rails with flat file if burred.

Tip: Keep chain sharp—a dull chain causes excessive wear and is dangerous.

Storage Guidelines

Long-Term Storage (over 30 days):

  1. Drain fuel tank and run engine until it stops to clear carburetor.
  2. Remove chain, clean, and soak in oil. Clean bar and coat with oil.
  3. Remove spark plug, add a teaspoon of oil into cylinder, pull starter slowly, reinstall plug.
  4. Store in dry, cool place, protected from dust.

CAUTION! Never store saw with fuel in tank for extended periods—fuel can degrade and damage components.
