Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, stable surface.

  1. Attach guide bar: Loosen nuts, position bar on studs, align chain, tighten nuts securely.
  2. Install chain: Ensure cutting teeth face forward, fit chain on bar sprocket, adjust tension.
  3. Fill fuel tank: Use fresh gasoline/oil mix (50:1 ratio as specified).
  4. Fill oil tank: Use recommended chain oil.
  5. Check controls: Ensure throttle, brake, and lockout move freely.

WARNING! Always wear protective gear (gloves, goggles, helmet, ear protection). Ensure chain brake is functional before starting.

First-Time Operation

Start chainsaw in a clear, open area away from bystanders.

  1. Engage chain brake: Push forward to lock chain.
  2. Set choke: Move to cold start position if engine is cold.
  3. Prime fuel: Press primer bulb 5-6 times.
  4. Pull starter cord: Firmly pull until engine fires, then disengage choke.
  5. Warm up: Allow engine to idle for 30 seconds.
  6. Disengage brake: Pull back to release chain brake.
  7. Test throttle: Squeeze trigger to ensure smooth acceleration.

CAUTION! Never start the saw on the ground or with chain touching any object. Keep firm footing.

Specifications

Controls and Functions

Main Controls: Throttle trigger, Throttle lockout, Chain brake lever, Decompression valve, Choke, Primer bulb, Master control lever.

Operation: Squeeze throttle lockout and trigger to accelerate. Push chain brake forward to engage. Use decompression valve for easier starting. Adjust choke for cold/hot starts.

Maintenance Points: Air filter cover, Spark plug access, Chain tensioner, Oil filler cap, Fuel cap.

Chain & Bar Setup

Proper chain installation is critical for safety and performance.

  1. Select correct chain: Match pitch, gauge, and drive links to bar.
  2. Install bar: Place on studs, ensure oil holes align.
  3. Install chain: Direction arrows must point toward bar tip.
  4. Adjust tension: Lift tip, tighten until chain snaps back.
  5. Lubricate: Check oil flow by running saw briefly over light-colored surface.

Tip: Always stop engine and wear gloves when handling chain.

Cutting Techniques

For felling, limbing, bucking, and pruning.

  1. Felling: Plan escape path, make notch cut, then back cut leaving hinge.
  2. Limbing: Stand uphill, cut from trunk outward, avoid pinching.
  3. Bucking: Support log, cut from top, use wedges for bind.
  4. Pruning: Cut small branches with pulling chain, larger with pushing chain.
  5. Kickback avoidance: Keep tip clear, grip firmly, use reduced-kickback chain.

WARNING! Never cut above shoulder height. Beware of kickback zone (upper tip of bar).

Safety Features

Chain Brake: Stops chain within milliseconds if triggered manually or by inertia. Throttle Lockout: Must be pressed before throttle engages. Right-Hand Guard: Protects from chain breakage. Anti-Vibration: Reduces long-term hand-arm vibration. Decompression Valve: Lowers starting effort.

Care & Maintenance

Daily: Clean air filter, check chain tension, sharpen chain, inspect bar for wear. Weekly: Clean cooling fins, check spark plug, clean fuel filter. Monthly: Replace fuel filter, inspect anti-vibration mounts, check all nuts/bolts.

CAUTION! Always disconnect spark plug before maintenance. Use only recommended oils and fuels.
