Safety Instructions

Always read and understand the manual before operation. Wear appropriate PPE.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment: Wear safety helmet, hearing protection, eye protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and steel-toe boots.
  2. Work Area Safety: Keep bystanders and animals at least 15 meters away. Ensure secure footing.
  3. Chain Brake Test: Test function before each use by engaging brake with front hand guard.
  4. Fuel Safety: Refuel in well-ventilated area with engine off and cool. Use fuel mix precisely.

WARNING! Chainsaw kickback can cause severe injury. Always maintain secure grip and proper stance.

Assembly & First Use

Unpack and inspect all components. Assemble guide bar and chain before first use.

  1. Attach Guide Bar: Place bar on mounting studs, align chain with sprocket, tension correctly.
  2. Fill Fuel: Use 50:1 gasoline to 2-stroke oil mixture (Jonsered recommended oil).
  3. Fill Chain Oil: Use proper bar and chain oil in separate oil tank.
  4. Starting Procedure: Place on flat ground, engage chain brake, set choke, pull starter cord.

CAUTION! Never drop-start or start above waist height. Ensure chain brake is engaged when starting.

Technical Specifications

Controls and Components

Main Controls: Throttle trigger, Throttle lockout, Stop switch, Choke control, Chain brake lever.

Components: Front handle with chain brake, Rear handle with throttle, Air filter cover, Fuel cap, Oil cap, Muffler, Spark plug cover, Decompression valve (if equipped).

Operation: Squeeze throttle lockout and trigger to accelerate. Push front hand guard forward to engage chain brake. Use stop switch to kill engine. Adjust oiler rate via screw near oil tank.

Starting & Operating Procedures

Cold Start: Engage chain brake, set choke, press decompression valve (if equipped), pull starter cord until engine fires, disengage choke, pull again to start.

  1. Warm Start: No choke required. Follow same procedure without choke.
  2. Cutting Techniques: Use lower quadrant of bar for cutting. Let saw do the work; avoid forcing.
  3. Kickback Prevention: Keep saw body close to your body, maintain secure grip, never cut with tip.
  4. Shut Down: Release throttle, allow idle, press stop switch.

Tip: Always let engine warm up for 30 seconds before applying full throttle.

Maintenance Schedule

Daily: Check chain tension, sharpness, and lubrication. Clean air filter. Inspect for loose parts.

  1. Every 10 hours: Clean spark arrestor screen (if equipped). Check fuel filter.
  2. Every 20 hours: Replace air filter. Inspect spark plug.
  3. Every 50 hours: Clean cooling fins. Check clutch and sprocket.
  4. Every 100 hours: Replace fuel filter. Clean carburetor (professional service recommended).

WARNING! Always disconnect spark plug wire before performing maintenance.

Chain Sharpening & Tensioning

Proper chain maintenance ensures performance and safety.

  1. Tensioning: Loosen bar nuts, adjust tensioning screw until chain fits snug against bar, tighten nuts.
  2. Sharpening: Use round file matching chain pitch (typically 3/8"). Maintain 30° cutting angle.
  3. Depth Gauges: File depth gauges to maintain proper height (0.025" below cutter).
  4. Lubrication: Ensure oiler is working; check oil output at bar tip during operation.

CAUTION! Wear gloves when handling chain. Always tension chain when cold.

Storage & Transport

Long-term Storage: Drain fuel tank and run engine until dry. Remove chain and bar; clean and oil. Store in dry place.

Transport: Engage chain brake. Use scabbard over bar. Secure in vehicle to prevent movement.
