Main controls: Throttle trigger, throttle lockout, stop switch, choke control, primer bulb, chain brake lever.

Right Side: Chain brake lever, throttle trigger, front handle. Left Side: Stop switch, choke control, primer bulb, rear handle with vibration dampeners. Top: Fuel cap, oil cap, air filter cover. Rear: Spark plug cover, starter handle.

Safety Features: Chain brake (manual/inertia), throttle lockout, right-hand guard, chain catcher. Adjustment Points: Chain tensioner (side), idle speed screw (carburetor), L/H mixture screws (requires special tool).

Starting & Operation

Cold Start Procedure:

  1. Place saw on flat ground. Engage chain brake.
  2. Press decompression valve (if equipped).
  3. Set choke to full position. Press primer bulb 5-6 times.
  4. Pull starter cord sharply until engine fires (1-3 pulls).
  5. Move choke to half position. Pull until engine starts.
  6. Blip throttle to disengage choke. Disengage chain brake.

Warm Start: Choke off. Pull starter cord. Cutting Techniques: Use full throttle when cutting. Let chain do the work. Avoid pushing or forcing. Maintain secure grip with thumbs wrapped around handles.

Maintenance Schedule

Daily (Before Use): Check chain tension, sharpness, and lubrication. Inspect air filter. Verify all fasteners tight.

Weekly: Clean air filter (replace if damaged). Check spark plug condition. Clean cooling fins. Inspect anti-vibration elements.

Monthly: Clean fuel filter. Check fuel lines for cracks. Clean carburetor air intake. Inspect chain brake function.

Seasonal: Replace spark plug. Clean muffler screen. Check clutch and drum wear. Replace bar/chain if worn.

Chain & Bar Care

Sharpening: Use round file matching chain pitch (5/32" for 3/8" pitch). Maintain 30° cutting angle. File all cutters evenly.

Depth Gauges: File rakers to 0.025" below cutter height using depth gauge tool.

Bar Maintenance: Clean bar groove weekly. Flip bar monthly for even wear. Lubricate sprocket tip.

Tip: Keep chain sharp - a dull chain causes excessive wear and dangerous operation.

Storage Guidelines

Long-term Storage (30+ days):

  1. Drain fuel tank completely. Run engine until it stops.
  2. Remove spark plug. Add 1 tsp of oil to cylinder. Pull starter 2-3 times. Reinstall plug.
  3. Clean entire saw thoroughly. Remove chain, clean and soak in oil.
  4. Store in dry place, covered, with bar and chain separately.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank. Fuel deteriorates and can damage carburetor.
