Safety Information

Read all instructions before operation. Wear appropriate PPE.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment: Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and steel-toe boots.
  2. Work Area Safety: Clear area of bystanders, especially children. Ensure secure footing.
  3. Kickback Zone: Avoid contact with upper quadrant of guide bar tip.
  4. Fuel Safety: Refuel in well-ventilated area, engine off and cool. Use fuel mix precisely.

WARNING! Chainsaw kickback can cause serious injury or death. Always maintain secure grip and proper stance.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect contents. Assemble guide bar and chain.

  1. Attach guide bar: Loosen bar nuts, position bar over studs, align chain drive links with sprocket.
  2. Install chain: Place chain over bar with cutters facing forward on top. Ensure proper direction.
  3. Tension chain: Use side tensioner to adjust until chain snaps back when pulled from bar.
  4. Fill fluids: Add 2-stroke fuel mix (50:1 Jonsered oil) to fuel tank. Fill chain oil reservoir with bar & chain oil.

CAUTION! Ensure chain brake is disengaged (pulled back) before starting.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main controls: Throttle trigger, throttle lockout, stop switch, choke, decompression valve, chain brake, primer bulb.

Left Side: Chain brake handle, side tensioner, oil filler cap. Right Side: Throttle trigger, choke lever, stop switch, fuel filler cap.

Operation: Squeeze throttle lockout before pressing throttle. Push choke lever for cold start. Pull chain brake handle toward front handle to engage brake; pull back toward operator to disengage.

Starting Procedure

Cold Start: Place saw on flat ground, engage chain brake.

  1. Press decompression valve (if equipped).
  2. Set choke lever to full choke position.
  3. Press primer bulb 5-6 times until fuel is visible.
  4. Pull starter cord briskly until engine fires (1-3 pulls).
  5. Move choke to half-throttle position.
  6. Pull starter cord again until engine starts.
  7. Allow to idle for 30 seconds before disengaging chain brake.

Tip: Warm start: Use half-choke or no choke if engine is warm.

Operation Guidelines

Proper cutting techniques ensure safety and efficiency.

  1. Felling: Plan escape path. Use notch and back cut techniques.
  2. Limbing: Stand on opposite side of log. Cut downward from top.
  3. Bucking: Support log properly. Avoid cutting into ground.
  4. Kickback Prevention: Maintain firm grip, do not overreach, keep saw close to body.
  5. Chain Speed: Maintain high RPM during cutting; avoid "riding" the chain.
  6. Oiling: Check oil flow by pointing bar at light surface; adjust oiler screw if needed.

WARNING! Never operate above shoulder height. Always cut at waist level or below.

Maintenance Schedule

Daily: Clean air filter, check chain tension, inspect bar for wear, clean cooling fins.

Weekly: Clean spark arrestor screen, check spark plug gap (0.5mm), inspect fuel filter.

Monthly: Clean carburetor air passage, replace fuel filter, inspect anti-vibration mounts.

Annually: Replace spark plug, clean cylinder exhaust port, check clutch and drum.

CAUTION! Always disconnect spark plug wire before performing maintenance.

Chain & Bar Care

Proper maintenance extends life and improves performance.

  1. Sharpening: Use round file matching chain pitch (5.5mm). Maintain 30° cutting angle.
  2. Depth Gauge: File rakers to 0.025" (0.65mm) below cutter height.
  3. Bar Maintenance: Clean bar groove weekly. Flip bar monthly for even wear.
  4. Lubrication: Always use quality bar & chain oil. Adjust oil flow for conditions.

Tip: A sharp chain reduces operator effort and prevents kickback.

Storage

Long-term storage preparation prevents fuel system issues.

  1. Drain fuel tank completely.
  2. Run engine until it stops to clear carburetor.
  3. Remove spark plug, add 1 teaspoon of oil to cylinder, pull starter slowly to coat.
  4. Clean entire saw, apply light oil to bar and chain.
  5. Store in dry place, cover to prevent dust accumulation.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank for more than 30 days.
