Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Always wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  1. PPE Required: Safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, steel-toe boots, helmet with face shield.
  2. Work Area: Clear area of bystanders, especially children. Ensure secure footing.
  3. Pre-Operation Check: Inspect chain sharpness, tension, and lubrication. Check for loose parts.
  4. Operation: Hold firmly with both hands. Do not operate above shoulder height. Beware of kickback.
  5. Fueling: Refuel in well-ventilated area with engine off and cool. Use correct fuel/oil mix.

WARNING! Kickback can cause severe injury. Always grip saw firmly and avoid contact with bar tip. Never operate when tired or under influence.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect contents. Assemble guide bar and chain.

  1. Attach Guide Bar: Place bar onto mounting studs, align chain groove.
  2. Install Chain: Fit chain over bar, ensuring cutting teeth face forward on top.
  3. Tension Chain: Adjust tensioning screw until chain fits snug but can be pulled by hand.
  4. Fill Tanks: Add correct fuel/oil mix to fuel tank. Fill chain oil tank with bar and chain oil.
  5. Final Check: Tighten all nuts/bolts. Ensure chain brake functions correctly.

CAUTION! Always wear gloves when handling chain. Ensure chain is properly tensioned before starting.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main Controls: Throttle trigger, Safety trigger lock, Chain brake lever, Stop switch, Choke, Decompression valve, Primer bulb.

Front Handle: Includes throttle trigger and safety lock. Rear Handle: Houses stop switch. Top Cover: Covers spark plug and air filter. Side Panel: Covers chain tensioner and oil filler cap.

Operation: Press safety lock, then squeeze throttle. Engage chain brake by pushing lever forward. Use choke for cold starts.

Starting & Operation

Starting Procedure (Cold Engine):

  1. Place saw on flat, clear ground. Engage chain brake.
  2. Press decompression valve (if equipped). Set choke to FULL.
  3. Press primer bulb 5-6 times until fuel is visible.
  4. Hold rear handle with right foot, pull starter cord sharply until engine fires.
  5. Move choke to HALF, pull again until engine starts.
  6. Allow to warm up, then disengage chain brake to begin cutting.

Tip: For warm restart, set choke to OFF. Do not drop-start the saw.

Cutting Techniques

Supports felling, limbing, bucking, and pruning.

  1. Felling: Plan escape path. Make notch cut, then back cut. Use wedges if needed.
  2. Limbing: Cut branches from felled tree. Stand on opposite side of log.
  3. Bucking: Cut log into sections. Support log off ground. Beware of pinching.
  4. Pruning: Cut small branches. Use bottom of bar to avoid kickback.

WARNING! Beware of kickback zone (upper quadrant of bar tip). Never cut with tip. Always cut at full throttle.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Perform daily maintenance before and after use.

  1. Air Filter: Clean regularly; replace if damaged.
  2. Spark Plug: Check gap; clean or replace as needed.
  3. Chain Oil System: Check oil flow; clean oil ports.
  4. Exhaust Port/Screen: Keep clear of carbon buildup.
  5. General Cleaning: Wipe saw with dry cloth; remove sawdust from cooling fins.

CAUTION! Disconnect spark plug wire before performing maintenance. Use only recommended parts and fluids.

Chain Sharpening & Tensioning

Sharp chain is essential for safe, efficient cutting.

  1. Sharpening: Use round file matching chain pitch. File each cutter at recommended angle (typically 30°). Maintain equal length on all cutters.
  2. Depth Gauges: File depth gauges with flat file to proper height below cutters.
  3. Tensioning: Loosen bar nuts. Adjust tension screw until chain snaps back when pulled from bar. Retighten nuts.

Note: Check tension frequently, especially when chain is new. A loose chain can derail; an overtightened chain can damage bar and engine.

Storage

Prepare saw for extended storage.

  1. Drain fuel tank and run engine until it stops to clear carburetor.
  2. Remove chain, clean, and soak in oil. Clean bar groove.
  3. Store in dry, cool place, away from children.
  4. Cover saw to prevent dust accumulation.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank for more than 30 days. Old fuel can damage engine.
