Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before operation. Always wear proper safety equipment.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment: Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and chainsaw chaps.
  2. Work Area Safety: Clear area of bystanders, especially children. Ensure secure footing.
  3. Kickback Prevention: Hold saw firmly with both hands. Do not cut with tip of bar.
  4. Fuel Safety: Refuel in well-ventilated area with engine off and cool. Use proper fuel/oil mix.

WARNING! Chainsaws are dangerous tools. Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death. Never operate when tired or under influence.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all components. Assemble before first use.

  1. Attach Guide Bar: Place bar on mounting studs, align chain with sprocket, tighten bar nuts.
  2. Install Chain: Position chain on bar with cutting teeth facing forward, adjust tension.
  3. Fuel Mix: Prepare 50:1 gasoline to 2-stroke oil mixture (consult manual for exact ratio).
  4. Fill Tanks: Add fuel mix to fuel tank and bar/chain oil to oil tank.
  5. Check Controls: Ensure throttle trigger, chain brake, and stop switch function properly.

CAUTION! Always check chain tension when cold. A loose chain can derail; overtightened chain can damage bar.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main Controls: Front handle with throttle trigger, Rear handle with stop switch, Choke lever, Primer bulb, Chain brake lever, Decompression valve.

Safety Features: Chain brake (manual/inertia), Throttle lockout, Right-hand guard, Spark arrestor muffler.

Operation Indicators: Fuel level window, Oil level indicator. Maintenance Points: Air filter cover, Spark plug, Chain tension adjustment, Bar nuts.

Starting & Operating

Cold Start Procedure:

  1. Place saw on clear, level ground.
  2. Engage chain brake by pulling forward.
  3. Set choke to full position.
  4. Press primer bulb 5-6 times.
  5. Hold front handle with left hand, place right foot in rear handle.
  6. Pull starter cord briskly until engine fires.
  7. Disengage choke to half position, pull again to start.
  8. Allow to warm up at idle for 30 seconds.
  9. Disengage chain brake before cutting.

Tip: For warm start, omit choke and primer steps.

Cutting Techniques

Basic Cutting Procedures:

  1. Felling Trees: Plan escape path. Make notch cut on falling side, then back cut.
  2. Limbing: Work from trunk outward. Keep saw between you and branch.
  3. Bucking: Support log properly. Cut from top down, avoid pinching bar.
  4. Pruning: Use bottom of bar for control. Do not cut above shoulder height.

WARNING! Beware of kickback zone (upper quadrant of bar tip). Never cut with this area. Always maintain firm grip with thumbs wrapped around handles.

Maintenance & Storage

Daily Maintenance:

  1. Clean air filter: Remove, wash in soapy water, dry, reinstall.
  2. Check chain tension: Adjust when cool to proper sag (approx 2mm).
  3. Sharpen chain: Use round file and guide when teeth become dull.
  4. Inspect bar: Clean groove, flip bar monthly for even wear.

Long-term Storage:

  1. Drain fuel tank and run engine until carburetor is dry.
  2. Remove chain, clean and soak in oil.
  3. Clean entire saw, especially cooling fins and air intake.
  4. Store in dry place, covered to prevent dust accumulation.

CAUTION! Always disconnect spark plug before performing maintenance. Use only genuine ICS replacement parts.
