Safety Instructions

Read and understand all instructions before operation. Always wear protective equipment.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment: Wear helmet, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and steel-toe boots.
  2. Work Area Safety: Keep bystanders and animals at least 15 meters away. Ensure secure footing.
  3. Fuel Safety: Refuel outdoors only when engine is cool. Use fuel/oil mix ratio 50:1 (Husqvarna XP+ oil).
  4. Kickback Awareness: Be aware of kickback zone (upper quadrant of bar nose). Use reduced-kickback chain.

WARNING! Never operate chainsaw with one hand. Always engage chain brake when not cutting.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect contents. Assemble guide bar and chain.

  1. Mount guide bar: Loosen bar nuts, position bar on studs, align chain drive links with sprocket.
  2. Install chain: Place chain over bar with cutters facing forward on top. Ensure proper direction.
  3. Tension chain: Adjust side tensioner until chain snaps back when pulled from bar.
  4. Fill fluids: Add fuel mix to fuel tank. Fill bar/chain oil tank with recommended oil.

CAUTION! Chain must be properly tensioned - check frequently during first hours of use.

Technical Specifications

Controls and Components

Main components: Front handle with chain brake, rear handle with throttle trigger, throttle lockout, choke/stop control, decompression valve, fuel cap, oil cap, side chain tensioner.

Controls: 1. Throttle trigger - Controls engine speed. 2. Throttle lockout - Must be pressed to access throttle. 3. Choke/Stop control - Three positions: Run (horizontal), Choke (full down), Stop (full up). 4. Decompression valve - Reduces compression for easier starting. 5. Chain brake handle - Front hand guard; activates brake when pushed forward. 6. Master control lever - Combined choke/stop/decompression control.

Starting & Stopping Procedure

Cold Start Procedure:

  1. Engage chain brake by pushing hand guard forward.
  2. Press decompression valve (if equipped).
  3. Move master control to choke position.
  4. Pull starter cord until engine fires (1-2 pulls).
  5. Move master control to run position.
  6. Pull starter cord until engine starts.
  7. Disengage chain brake before cutting.

Warm Start: Master control in run position. Do not use choke.

Stopping: Release throttle, move master control to stop position.

Operating Instructions

Proper cutting techniques for safety and efficiency.

  1. Felling trees: Plan escape path. Make notch cut 1/3 of tree diameter. Make felling cut 2-3 cm above notch.
  2. Limbing: Stand uphill. Cut branches from base to top. Watch for springback.
  3. Bucking: Support log properly. Cut from top. Avoid cutting into ground.
  4. Pruning: Use light touch. Let chain do the work. Beware of tension in branches.

Tip: Maintain full throttle during cutting. Never cut with bar nose.

Maintenance Schedule

IntervalMaintenance Task
DailyCheck chain tension, sharpness; Clean air filter; Check bar/chain oil flow
WeeklyClean cooling fins; Check spark plug; Clean fuel filter
MonthlyClean carburetor air intake; Check all nuts/bolts; Clean spark arrestor
SeasonallyReplace fuel filter; Check fuel lines; Replace spark plug
AnnuallyProfessional servicing; Piston/cylinder inspection

Note: More frequent maintenance required under dusty conditions.

Chain & Bar Care

Proper chain maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety.

  1. Sharpening: Use round file matching chain pitch (typically 5.5mm). Maintain 30° cutting angle.
  2. Depth gauges: File down to 0.65mm below cutter edge. Use depth gauge tool.
  3. Bar maintenance: Clean bar groove weekly. Flip bar monthly for even wear.
  4. Lubrication: Always use recommended bar oil. Check oil flow before each use.

CAUTION! Dull chain causes kickback. Replace chain when stretched beyond adjustment.

Storage Guidelines

Proper storage prevents fuel system issues and corrosion.

  1. Short-term (under 30 days): Drain fuel tank. Run engine until carburetor is empty.
  2. Long-term: Drain all fuel. Remove spark plug, add 1 tsp oil to cylinder, pull starter 2-3 times.
  3. Clean entire saw thoroughly. Remove chain, clean and soak in oil.
  4. Store in dry place, covered, away from ignition sources.

WARNING! Never store with fuel in tank for more than 30 days.
