Safety Information

Read and understand all instructions before operation. Always wear proper PPE.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment: Wear safety helmet, hearing protection, eye protection, gloves, chainsaw protective trousers, and safety boots.
  2. Work Area Safety: Keep bystanders and animals at least 15 meters away. Ensure secure footing.
  3. Kickback Awareness: Be aware of kickback zone (upper quadrant of bar nose). Use reduced-kickback chain.
  4. Fuel Safety: Refuel outdoors only when engine is cool. Use fuel/oil mix as specified.

WARNING! A chainsaw is a dangerous tool if used improperly. Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect contents. Assemble bar and chain, fill with fuel/oil mix.

  1. Attach Guide Bar & Chain: Place bar on studs, fit chain with drive links in bar groove, tension correctly.
  2. Fill Fuel Tank: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (min 90 octane) mixed with Husqvarna 2-stroke oil at 50:1 ratio.
  3. Fill Chain Oil Tank: Use Husqvarna chain oil or equivalent biodegradable oil.
  4. Check Chain Tension: Chain should be snug against bar but pull freely by hand.

CAUTION! Ensure chain brake is disengaged (pulled back toward front handle) before starting.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main components: Front handle with hand guard, Rear handle with throttle trigger, Throttle lockout, Chain brake lever, Combined choke/stop control, Decompression valve, Primer bulb, Master control lever.

Master Control Lever Positions: Choke position (cold start), Half-throttle position (warm start), Run position (operation), Stop position (engine off).

Chain Brake: Manual activation by pushing forward hand guard; inertia activation during kickback. Throttle Lockout: Must be depressed before throttle trigger can be engaged. Decompression Valve: Reduces compression for easier starting.

Starting & Stopping

Cold Start:

  1. Place saw on flat ground, engage chain brake.
  2. Press decompression valve (if equipped).
  3. Set master control to choke position.
  4. Press primer bulb 4-6 times until fuel is visible.
  5. Pull starter handle until engine fires (1-4 pulls).
  6. Move master control to half-throttle position.
  7. Pull starter handle until engine starts.
  8. Blip throttle to disengage fast idle.

Warm Start: Master control to half-throttle position, pull starter handle.

Stopping: Release throttle, move master control to STOP position.

Operating Instructions

Proper cutting techniques ensure safety and efficiency.

  1. Secure Grip: Hold front handle with left hand, rear handle with right hand. Thumb under front handle.
  2. Starting Cut: Apply light pressure, let chain do the work. Avoid forcing the saw.
  3. Kickback Prevention: Do not cut with bar nose. Be aware of pinch points.
  4. Felling Trees: Plan escape path. Use proper notch and back cut techniques.
  5. Limbing: Stand on left side of trunk. Cut downward from top of limb.
  6. Bucking: Support log properly. Cut from top down, avoid ground contact.

Tip: Maintain sharp chain and proper tension for optimal performance and safety.

Maintenance Schedule

Regular maintenance ensures longevity and safe operation.

IntervalTask
DailyCheck chain tension, sharpness, and lubrication; Clean air filter; Check all fasteners
WeeklyClean cooling fins; Check spark plug; Clean fuel filter
MonthlyClean carburetor air intake; Check anti-vibration elements; Clean chain brake mechanism
AnnuallyReplace fuel filter; Check fuel lines; Professional inspection recommended

CAUTION! Always disconnect spark plug before performing maintenance.

Chain & Bar Care

Proper chain and bar maintenance ensures cutting efficiency and safety.

  1. Sharpening: Use round file matching chain pitch. Maintain correct filing angle (typically 30°). File all cutters equally.
  2. Depth Gauge Setting: Check and adjust depth gauges with flat file and depth gauge tool.
  3. Bar Maintenance: Clean bar groove regularly. Flip bar monthly for even wear. Dress bar rails if burred.
  4. Lubrication: Ensure oil hole in bar is clear. Adjust oil flow as needed for conditions.

WARNING! Always wear gloves when handling chain. A dull chain increases kickback risk.

Storage

Proper storage prevents fuel system issues and corrosion.

  1. Short-term (under 30 days): Drain fuel tank, run engine until it stops to clear carburetor.
  2. Long-term (over 30 days): Drain all fuel, remove spark plug, add teaspoon of oil to cylinder, pull starter slowly to distribute oil, reinstall spark plug.
  3. Clean entire saw, especially cooling fins and air filter.
  4. Store in dry place, bar and chain coated with oil.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank for extended periods. Fuel deteriorates and can damage engine.
