Safety Information

Read and understand all safety instructions before operation.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment: Always wear safety helmet, hearing protection, eye protection, gloves, chainsaw protective pants, and steel-toe boots.
  2. Work Area Safety: Clear area of bystanders, especially children. Ensure secure footing and escape path.
  3. Kickback Prevention: Maintain secure grip, do not cut with tip of bar, keep chain sharp and properly tensioned.
  4. Fuel Safety: Refuel outdoors, away from ignition sources. Use approved fuel/oil mix.

WARNING! Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death. Never operate when tired or under influence.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect contents. Assemble guide bar and chain.

  1. Attach guide bar: Place bar on mounting studs, ensure tensioning pin engages in bar hole.
  2. Install chain: Place chain on bar sprocket, ensure cutting teeth face forward on top of bar.
  3. Tension chain: Use side tensioner to adjust until chain snaps back when pulled from bar.
  4. Fuel mix: Use high-quality 2-stroke oil mixed with unleaded gasoline at 50:1 ratio (2%).
  5. Lubrication: Fill bar and chain oil tank with special chainsaw oil.

CAUTION! Ensure chain brake is disengaged during assembly. Wear protective gloves.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main components: Front handle with chain brake, Rear handle with throttle trigger, Throttle lockout, Stop switch, Choke/Stop control, Decompression valve, Primer bulb, Chain tensioner.

Controls: Throttle trigger (with lockout), Stop switch (ON/OFF), Choke control (Cold start/Stop), Chain brake lever (Front handle), Decompression valve button, Primer bulb, Master control lever (Combined choke/stop).

Safety features: Chain brake (manual/inertia activated), Throttle lockout (must be pressed to engage throttle), Right hand guard, Chain catcher, Spark arrestor muffler.

Starting & Stopping Procedure

Starting: Place on flat ground, clear of obstacles.

  1. Cold start: Press decompression valve, set master control to choke position, press throttle lockout and throttle trigger, pull starter cord until engine fires, move master control to half-throttle, pull until starts.
  2. Warm start: Master control in run position, pull starter cord.
  3. Stopping: Release throttle, press stop switch to OFF.

Tip: Always engage chain brake when starting or carrying saw.

Operation & Cutting Techniques

Basic cutting positions and techniques.

  1. Felling: Plan escape path, make notch cut, then felling cut leaving hinge.
  2. Limbing: Stand on left side of trunk, cut from top down, use bar as support.
  3. Bucking: Support log properly, cut from top, avoid cutting into ground.
  4. Pruning: Use light touch, let chain do the work, avoid twisting bar.

WARNING! Beware of kickback zone (upper quadrant of bar tip). Never cut above shoulder height.

Maintenance Schedule

Daily: Check chain tension, sharpness, lubrication. Clean air filter, check for loose parts.

Weekly: Clean cooling fins, spark plug, fuel filter. Check bar for wear, clean oil holes.

Monthly: Clean carburetor air intake, check fuel lines, clean spark arrestor screen.

Annually: Replace fuel filter, check piston/cylinder through exhaust port, professional service recommended.

Chain Sharpening & Tensioning

Sharpening: Use round file matching chain pitch (typically 5.5mm). Maintain 30° cutting angle, 10° top plate angle. File all cutters to equal length.

Tensioning: Chain should be snug against bar but pull freely. Adjust when chain sags from bottom of bar. Proper tension: Chain should snap back when pulled from bar.

CAUTION! Disconnect spark plug before chain maintenance. Wear protective gloves.

Storage Guidelines

Long-term storage: Empty fuel tank, run engine until stops. Remove chain, clean and oil. Store in dry place, cover to prevent dust.

Short-term: Store with chain brake engaged. Keep away from moisture and direct sunlight.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank for extended periods. Use fuel stabilizer if necessary.
