Maintenance & Care

Regular maintenance ensures performance and longevity.

  1. Daily: Check chain tension, sharpness, and oil level. Clean air vents.
  2. Weekly: Inspect power cord for damage. Clean saw body and bar groove. Check bar for wear.
  3. Monthly: Lubricate bar tip sprocket (if equipped). Check all nuts and bolts for tightness.
  4. As Needed: Replace worn chain, bar, or sprocket. Clean oil tank and filter.

WARNING! Always unplug the chainsaw before performing any maintenance or cleaning.

Chain Sharpening & Replacement

Keep chain sharp for safe and efficient cutting.

  1. Sharpening: Use a 5/32" round file and file guide. Maintain 30-degree cutting angle. File all cutters to equal length.
  2. Depth Gauge Setting: Use a depth gauge tool to set rakers .025" below cutting edge.
  3. Replacement: Unplug saw. Remove side cover. Remove old chain. Install new chain with cutting teeth facing forward on top of bar. Adjust tension.

CAUTION! A dull chain increases kickback risk and operator fatigue. Sharpen regularly.

Storage

Store properly to prevent damage and corrosion.

Clean saw thoroughly. Empty oil tank or use biodegradable oil to prevent gumming. Loosen chain tension. Store in a dry, locked place out of reach of children. Use included carrying case.

CAUTION! Do not store with fuel mix (not applicable to 440e electric model). Protect from extreme temperatures.
