Safety Instructions

Read and understand all safety warnings before operation.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear chainsaw protective pants, safety helmet with visor and hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
  2. Work Area Safety: Keep bystanders and animals at least 15 meters away. Ensure secure footing.
  3. Kickback Danger Zone: Avoid contact with the upper quadrant of the guide bar tip.
  4. Fuel Safety: Refuel outdoors only when engine is cool. Use fuel mix ratio 50:1 (Husqvarna 2-stroke oil).
  5. Chain Brake Test: Test function before each use by engaging brake with left hand.

WARNING! Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death. Never operate a chainsaw when fatigued or under the influence.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect contents. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach Guide Bar & Chain: Place bar on mounting studs. Fit chain with cutting teeth facing forward on top of bar. Adjust tension with side screw.
  2. Fill Fuel & Oil: Fill fuel tank with 50:1 gasoline/oil mix. Fill chain oil tank with Husqvarna chain oil (or equivalent).
  3. Check Chain Tension: Chain should be snug against bar but pull freely by hand. Re-tension after initial use.
  4. Check Chain Brake: Engage and disengage brake to ensure proper function.

CAUTION! Always wear protective gloves when handling the chain. Ensure chain is properly installed to prevent derailment.

Technical Specifications

Controls and Components

Main controls located on top and rear handle.

Right Side: Throttle trigger, throttle trigger lockout, front hand guard/chain brake, choke/stop control, primer bulb (if equipped).

Left Side: Combined choke/stop control, decompression valve (if equipped), side-mounted chain tensioner.

Rear Handle: Master control lever (choke/fast idle/run), rear hand guard, vibration dampeners.

Maintenance Points: Air filter cover, spark plug, cylinder cover, fuel and oil caps.

Starting & Stopping

Cold Start Procedure:

  1. Place saw on flat ground. Engage chain brake.
  2. Press decompression valve (if equipped).
  3. Set master control lever to choke position (full down).
  4. Press primer bulb 6-8 times until fuel is visible (if equipped).
  5. Pull starter handle until engine fires (approx. 3-5 pulls).
  6. Move master control lever to fast idle position (one click up).
  7. Pull starter handle again until engine starts.
  8. Blip throttle to disengage fast idle.

Warm Start: Set master control lever to fast idle position and pull starter cord.

Stopping: Release throttle, allow engine to idle, move master control lever to stop position.

Operating Instructions

Proper cutting techniques for safety and efficiency.

  1. Basic Stance: Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, left foot slightly forward. Hold saw firmly with both hands.
  2. Kickback Prevention: Maintain secure grip. Never cut with bar tip. Keep saw at waist level or below.
  3. Felling Trees: Plan escape path. Make notch cut (1/3 tree diameter), then felling cut. Use wedges for large trees.
  4. Limbing: Work from trunk outward. Support saw on trunk when possible.
  5. Bucking: Support log properly. Cut from top side when possible. Beware of tension/compression in wood.
  6. Pushing/ Pulling Chain: Recognize when chain is pushing or pulling; adjust cutting pressure accordingly.

WARNING! Never operate chainsaw above shoulder height or with one hand. Always plan your cut and escape route.

Maintenance Schedule

IntervalTask
Daily / Before UseCheck chain tension, sharpness, and brake function. Check fuel/oil levels. Clean air filter if needed.
Weekly / 10 HoursClean spark arrestor screen. Check all nuts/bolts for tightness. Clean cooling fins.
Monthly / 50 HoursReplace spark plug. Clean fuel filter. Check anti-vibration elements.
Seasonally / 100 HoursReplace air filter. Clean carburetor (or have serviced). Check clutch and sprocket.
Annually / StorageDrain fuel system or add stabilizer. Sharpen/replace chain. Professional inspection recommended.

Chain & Bar Care

  1. Sharpening: Use correct round file size (4.0 mm / 5/32"). Maintain 30° filing angle. File all cutters evenly.
  2. Depth Gauge Setting: Check depth gauges after 3-5 sharpenings. Use depth gauge tool to maintain 0.65 mm clearance.
  3. Bar Maintenance: Clean bar groove weekly. Flip bar weekly for even wear. Dress bar rails with flat file if burred.
  4. Chain Tension: Check when cold. Proper tension: snug against bar but pull freely. Re-check after first minute of operation.
  5. Lubrication: Always use proper chain oil. Check oil flow by pointing bar at light surface; should show oil line.

CAUTION! A dull chain increases kickback risk and operator fatigue. Always stop engine before adjusting chain.

Storage Guidelines

Proper storage prevents fuel system issues and corrosion.

  1. Short-Term (1-2 months): Add fuel stabilizer, run engine 2 minutes to circulate. Store in dry place.
  2. Long-Term: Drain fuel tank and carburetor. Run engine until it stops. Remove chain, clean and oil it. Store chain in oil.
  3. General: Clean entire saw. Check for loose parts. Cover to prevent dust accumulation.
  4. Battery (if electric start): Remove battery, store at room temperature, charge every 3 months.

WARNING! Never store chainsaw with fuel in tank in enclosed area or near ignition sources.
