Maintenance Schedule

Access daily checks and service intervals via maintenance chart. Front Panel: Chain tension, chain sharpness, air filter, spark plug.

Daily/Before Use: Check chain tension and sharpness, check chain brake function, clean air filter, check fuel and oil levels.

Weekly/10 Hours: Clean cooling fins, check spark plug condition and gap, clean external surfaces, inspect guide bar for wear and damage.

Monthly/50 Hours: Clean fuel filter, check carburetor settings, inspect anti-vibration elements, check all nuts and bolts for tightness.

Annually/100 Hours: Replace fuel filter, clean carburetor and fuel tank, check clutch and sprocket, inspect ignition system (coil gap 0.3 mm).

Engine Service

Cylinder and Piston: Inspect for scoring. Compression should be min 140 psi (9.7 bar). Carburetor Adjustment: Factory settings: L=1 turn out, H=1 turn out, T=1 turn out. Fine-tune at operating temperature.

  1. Turn off saw and allow to cool before servicing.
  2. Remove covers and components as needed for access.
  3. Use genuine Husqvarna tools and replacement parts.

Tip: Always disconnect spark plug wire before performing any engine service.

Cutting System

Supports guide bars 13" to 16". Chain types: 3/8" LP or .325".

  1. Chain Installation: Ensure drive links engage sprocket. Place chain with cutters facing forward on top of bar.
  2. Chain Tensioning: Loosen bar nuts. Adjust with side tensioner until chain snaps back when pulled from bar. Tighten bar nuts.
  3. Sharpening: Use round file matching chain pitch (typically 4.0 mm or 4.8 mm). Maintain 30° cutting angle and 10° top plate filing angle.
  4. Guide Bar Maintenance: File rails if burred. Rotate bar regularly to ensure even wear. Clean oil channels.
  5. Sprocket Inspection: Replace drive sprocket if teeth are hooked or worn. Check clutch drum for scoring.

WARNING! Always wear cut-resistant gloves when handling chain. A dull chain increases risk of kickback.

Fuel & Lubrication System

Fuel System: Tank, filter, fuel lines, carburetor. Chain Oil System: Tank, pump, adjustable flow, oil channels in guide bar.

Ignition System

Spark Plug: Check, clean, gap, or replace. Ignition Module (CDI): Check for spark. Air gap between flywheel and coil: 0.3 mm (0.012"). Stop Switch: Test for continuity.

CAUTION! High voltage present. Do not touch spark plug wire while engine is running or cranking.
