Read and understand all instructions before use. Always wear proper protective equipment.
WARNING! Risk of severe injury or death from kickback, chain breakage, or loss of control. Never operate with one hand.
Unpack and inspect contents. Assemble on a clean, stable surface.
CAUTION! Ensure all fasteners are tightened. Loose parts can cause serious injury.
Access controls on the saw body. Front Handle: Chain brake lever/hand guard, throttle trigger, throttle trigger lockout. Rear Handle: Master control lever (combined choke/stop control), primer bulb (if equipped), rear hand guard.
Master Control Lever Positions: - STOP (0): Engine off. Ignition short-circuited. - CHOKE (⏫): For cold starting. Engages choke and sets fast idle. - RUN (⏬): Normal operating position.
Other Controls: Throttle trigger lockout must be pressed before throttle can be engaged. Chain brake lever/hand guard: Push forward to engage brake manually; inertia-activated during kickback.
Cold Start: 1. Place saw on flat ground. Engage chain brake. 2. Press decompression valve (if equipped). 3. Move master control lever to CHOKE (⏫). Press primer bulb 6 times (if equipped). 4. Hold front handle with left hand, place right foot in rear handle. Pull starter handle until engine fires. 5. Move master control lever to RUN (⏬). Pull starter handle again to start. 6. Let engine idle briefly. Disengage chain brake by pulling hand guard towards you.
Warm Start: Master control lever in RUN position. No choke or priming needed.
Stopping: Release throttle. Move master control lever to STOP (0).
Supports felling, limbing, and bucking.
WARNING! Never cut above shoulder height. Be alert for falling branches.

Use round file and file guide matching chain pitch (e.g., 5.5 mm for 3/8" chain).
Tip: A sharp chain produces coarse chips, not fine dust. Sharpen frequently.
For storage longer than 30 days:
CAUTION! Fuel left in tank can deteriorate and damage fuel system components.
| Symptom | Possible Cause | Corrective Action |
|---|---|---|
| Engine will not start | No spark, flooded, fuel issue | Check spark plug, air filter. Move control to STOP, open throttle, pull starter to clear flood. Use fresh fuel mix. |
| Engine starts but stops | Clogged fuel filter, carburetor adjustment | Replace fuel filter. Check and adjust idle speed (L) and high speed (H) screws. |
| Engine lacks power | Clogged air filter, spark arrestor, carburetor | Clean air filter and spark arrestor screen. Check carburetor settings. |
| Chain does not turn | Chain brake engaged, clutch/sprocket worn | Disengage chain brake. Inspect clutch drum and drive sprocket for wear. |
| Excessive chain wear/bar heating | Inadequate lubrication | Check oil tank, oil flow, and bar groove. Clean oil holes. |
| Vibration increase | Loose components, unbalanced chain | Tighten all screws/nuts. Sharpen chain evenly. |
