Safety Information

Always wear proper safety gear: helmet, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and steel-toed boots.

  1. Clear work area of obstacles and bystanders.
  2. Inspect chainsaw before each use for loose parts, chain tension, and damage.
  3. Never operate with one hand or above shoulder height.
  4. Ensure chain brake is functional before starting.
  5. Use proper fueling procedures away from ignition sources.

WARNING! Kickback can occur without warning. Always grip firmly, maintain proper chain sharpness, and avoid contact with the upper tip of the bar.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all components. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach guide bar and chain: Loosen bar nuts, position bar over studs, loop chain over sprocket and bar, adjust tension.
  2. Fill fuel tank: Use fresh gasoline mixed with 2-stroke oil at 50:1 ratio (consult manual for exact specification).
  3. Fill oil tank: Use quality bar and chain oil.
  4. Check chain tension: Chain should snap back when pulled from bar; adjust tensioning screw as needed.

CAUTION! Never operate without proper chain tension and lubrication. Ensure all fasteners are tightened securely.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main Controls: Front Handle with throttle trigger, Rear Handle with throttle lockout, Master Control Lever (combines choke, stop switch, and decompression valve), Chain Brake lever, and Chain Tensioning Screw.

Components: Fuel Tank Cap, Oil Tank Cap, Air Filter Cover, Spark Plug, Muffler, Guide Bar, Chain, Sprocket Cover, and Anti-Vibration Mounts.

Operation: Master Control Lever positions: STOP (0), RUN (I), CHOKE (II). Chain Brake: Push forward to engage (stop chain), pull back to disengage. Throttle Lockout: Must be depressed before throttle trigger can be engaged.

Starting & Operation

Cold Start Procedure (with chain brake engaged):

  1. Place on firm ground, clear of debris.
  2. Press decompression valve (if equipped).
  3. Set Master Control to CHOKE (II).
  4. Pump primer bulb 5-7 times (if equipped).
  5. Pull starter cord sharply until engine fires.
  6. Move Master Control to RUN (I).
  7. Pull starter cord again to start engine.
  8. Allow to warm up at idle for 30 seconds.
  9. Disengage chain brake before cutting.

Tip: For warm restart, use RUN position without choke. Never drop-start the chainsaw.

Chain & Bar Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety.

  1. Chain Sharpening: Use round file matching chain pitch (typically 5/32" or 4.0 mm). Maintain 30° cutting angle and 10° top plate angle. File all cutters evenly.
  2. Chain Tension: Check frequently when hot and cold. Adjust via tensioning screw; chain should be snug against bar but pull freely.
  3. Bar Maintenance: Clean bar groove regularly. Flip bar monthly for even wear. Dress bar rails with flat file if burred.
  4. Lubrication: Ensure oiler is working; chain should throw a fine line of oil. Clean oil ports if clogged.
  5. Sprocket Inspection: Replace if worn or damaged.

WARNING! Always wear heavy gloves when handling chain. Ensure engine is off and spark plug disconnected.

Engine Maintenance

Air Filter: Clean weekly (more often in dusty conditions). Remove, tap clean, or wash in soapy water. Dry completely before reinstalling.

Spark Plug: Clean and check gap (0.025 inch / 0.63 mm) every 25 operating hours. Replace annually or if electrodes are worn.

Fuel System: Use fresh fuel mix (never store over 30 days). Clean fuel filter annually. Carburetor adjustments: Idle speed (screw L) and High speed (screw H) – factory set; consult dealer for adjustments.

Muffler: Clean spark arrestor screen monthly to prevent fire hazard.

Storage Guidelines

Long-term storage (over 30 days):

  1. Drain fuel tank and run engine until it stops to clear carburetor.
  2. Drain bar and chain oil tank.
  3. Remove chain, clean, and soak in oil. Store separately.
  4. Clean entire saw, especially cooling fins and air intake.
  5. Store in dry, cool place, protected from dust and moisture.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in the tank. Fuel deteriorates and can damage engine components.
