Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach guide bar and chain: Loosen nuts, position bar, fit chain with teeth facing forward, adjust tension, tighten nuts.
  2. Fill fuel tank: Use fresh gasoline mixed with 2-stroke oil at specified ratio (e.g., 50:1).
  3. Fill oil tank: Use recommended bar and chain oil.
  4. Check chain tension: Chain should be snug but pull freely around bar.

WARNING! Always wear protective gear (gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, chainsaw chaps) during assembly and operation. Ensure all fasteners are secure.

First-Time Operation

Before starting, perform pre-operation checks.

  1. Check chain tension: Adjust if necessary.
  2. Check fuel and oil levels: Refill as needed.
  3. Inspect chain sharpness: Dull chains increase risk and reduce efficiency.
  4. Clear work area: Ensure stable footing and no obstructions.
  5. Start engine: Place on ground, engage chain brake, set choke, pull starter cord.

CAUTION! Never start the chainsaw in an enclosed area. Exhaust fumes are dangerous. Keep bystanders at a safe distance.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main components: Front Handguard/Chain Brake, Throttle Trigger, Throttle Trigger Lockout, Choke Lever, Stop Switch, Primer Bulb, Fuel Tank Cap, Oil Tank Cap, Chain Tensioner, Decompression Valve (if equipped).

Operation: To operate, depress throttle trigger lockout, then squeeze throttle trigger. Engage chain brake by pushing handguard forward. Use choke for cold starts.

Maintenance Points: Air filter, Spark plug, Chain catcher, Muffler, Anti-vibration mounts.

Fuel & Lubrication

Use fresh, unleaded gasoline (minimum 89 octane) mixed with a high-quality 2-stroke engine oil at the specified ratio (e.g., 50:1). Use only bar and chain oil in the oil tank.

  1. Mix fuel in a clean, approved container. Shake well.
  2. Fill fuel tank on a level surface, avoiding spills.
  3. Fill oil tank with recommended bar and chain oil.
  4. Never use old fuel mixture (over 30 days).

Tip: Spilled fuel is a fire hazard. Clean up spills immediately. Do not smoke near fuel.

Starting & Operating Procedures

Starting (Cold Engine):

  1. Engage chain brake.
  2. Set choke to full position.
  3. Press primer bulb 5-10 times.
  4. Place saw on ground, hold front handle with left hand, place right foot through rear handle.
  5. Pull starter cord briskly until engine 'pops'.
  6. Move choke to half position.
  7. Pull starter cord again to start.
  8. Allow to warm up, then disengage chain brake.

WARNING! Be aware of kickback. Do not operate with one hand. Keep both hands on handles. Do not cut above shoulder height.

Chain Maintenance

Sharpening: Use correct round file size and guide. File at specified angle (typically 30°). Maintain equal tooth length. Tensioning: Chain should be snug against bar but pull freely. Check tension frequently, especially when new. Adjust when engine is off and cool.

Storage & Care

For long-term storage: 1. Drain all fuel from tank and carburetor. 2. Run engine until it stops to clear fuel lines. 3. Remove chain, clean, and soak in oil. 4. Clean entire saw, especially air filter and cooling fins. 5. Store in a dry, secure place.

CAUTION! Fuel left in the carburetor can degrade and cause starting problems. Always use the storage procedure.

Safety Information

Read manual thoroughly before use. Always wear: helmet with face shield, hearing protection, safety gloves, cut-resistant chaps, and sturdy boots. Be aware of kickback zone (upper quadrant of bar nose). Never operate when tired or under the influence. Maintain a firm grip and secure footing. Keep bystanders and pets at least 15 feet away.
