Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach guide bar and chain: Place bar on mounting studs, fit chain over sprocket and bar, adjust tension.
  2. Install chain brake handle: Ensure it moves freely between engaged and disengaged positions.
  3. Fill oil reservoir: Use recommended bar and chain oil.
  4. Mix fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum) with 2-cycle oil at 40:1 ratio.

WARNING! Always wear protective gloves during assembly. Ensure chain is properly tensioned before use.

First-Time Operation

Before starting, complete pre-operation checks.

  1. Check chain tension: Chain should snap back when pulled from bar.
  2. Test chain brake: Engage brake by pushing handle forward; it should lock chain.
  3. Prime engine: Press primer bulb 5-7 times until fuel is visible.
  4. Set choke: Move to FULL position for cold start.
  5. Start saw: Place on ground, hold handle, pull starter cord briskly.

CAUTION! Clear area of obstacles and bystanders. Keep firm grip with both hands.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main controls: Throttle trigger, throttle trigger lockout, choke lever, primer bulb, stop switch, chain brake handle.

Components: Front handle, rear handle, fuel tank cap, oil tank cap, spark plug cover, muffler, guide bar, chain catcher, anti-vibration mounts.

Operation: Squeeze throttle trigger lockout and throttle to increase engine speed. Push chain brake handle forward to engage brake. Choke positions: FULL (cold start), HALF (warm start), OFF (running). Stop switch: Push down to stop engine.

Fuel & Oil Mixing

Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane or higher) and 2-cycle engine oil meeting JASO FD or ISO-L-EGD standards.

  1. Mix ratio: 40:1 (3.2 oz oil per 1 gallon gasoline).
  2. Mix in approved container; shake well before filling.
  3. Fill fuel tank to 80% capacity to allow for expansion.
  4. Use separate, clearly marked containers for fuel mix and bar oil.

Tip: Never use automotive oil or old gasoline. Discard fuel mix after 30 days.

Starting & Operating

Starting procedure (cold engine):

  1. Engage chain brake by pushing handle forward.
  2. Set choke lever to FULL position.
  3. Press primer bulb 5-7 times.
  4. Place saw on ground, hold rear handle with right foot.
  5. Pull starter cord briskly until engine fires.
  6. Move choke to HALF, pull cord again until engine starts.
  7. Allow to warm up 30 seconds before disengaging brake.

WARNING! Always engage chain brake when starting or carrying. Never drop-start the chainsaw.

Maintenance Schedule

Daily: Check chain tension, sharpness, and lubrication. Clean air filter. Inspect for loose fasteners.

Weekly: Clean spark arrestor screen. Check fuel filter. Clean cooling fins.

Monthly: Replace spark plug (NGK BPMR7A). Clean carburetor air passage. Check anti-vibration mounts.

Seasonal: Replace fuel filter. Clean fuel tank. Inspect guide bar for wear.

Chain Sharpening

Use round file (7/32 inch) and file guide. Maintain 30° cutting angle.

  1. Secure bar in vise or clamp.
  2. Place file guide on chain; match file to cutter angle.
  3. File from inside to outside with smooth strokes.
  4. File each cutter equally to maintain balance.
  5. Check depth gauges with gauge tool; file if above limit.

CAUTION! Wear gloves. File in one direction only. Replace chain when cutters are worn to line.

Safety Information

Required PPE: Safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, steel-toe boots.

Operating rules: Keep both hands on handles. Never cut above shoulder height. Beware of kickback. Do not operate when fatigued.

Chain brake test: Monthly, engage brake at idle; chain should stop within 1 second.
