Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach guide bar and chain: Place bar onto mounting studs, loop chain onto sprocket and bar groove, adjust tension.
  2. Fill fuel tank: Use fresh gasoline mixed with 2-cycle oil at 40:1 ratio (see Fuel section).
  3. Fill oil tank: Use bar and chain oil only.
  4. Check chain brake: Ensure hand guard moves freely and engages brake.

WARNING! Always wear protective gear: gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and chainsaw chaps. Ensure chain brake is functional before use.

Starting & Operation

Follow safe starting procedure. Operate with firm grip and proper stance.

  1. Cold Start: Set switch to ON, press primer bulb 5-6 times, set choke to FULL, pull starter cord until engine fires, set choke to HALF, pull again to start.
  2. Warm Start: Set switch to ON, set choke to OFF, pull starter cord.
  3. Cutting: Hold saw firmly with both hands, let chain reach full speed before cutting, avoid tip contact (kickback danger).
  4. Stopping: Release throttle trigger, set switch to OFF.

CAUTION! Never operate with one hand. Be aware of kickback zone (upper tip of bar). Keep bystanders at least 15 feet away.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main controls: On/Off switch, choke lever, primer bulb, throttle trigger, throttle lockout, chain brake hand guard.

Components: Front handle with chain brake, rear handle with trigger, fuel tank cap, oil tank cap, air filter cover, muffler, spark plug, and starter grip.

Chain Tension Adjustment: Located on side near bar. Loosen bar nuts, turn adjustment screw until chain fits snug against bar, tighten bar nuts. Chain should pull freely around bar.

Chain & Bar Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety.

  1. Chain Sharpening: Use round file (5/32" or 4.0mm) and file guide. Maintain 30° cutting angle, check depth gauges.
  2. Bar Care: Clean bar groove regularly, flip bar monthly for even wear.
  3. Chain Tension: Check frequently when cold; adjust as needed (chain should snap back when pulled from bar).
  4. Sprocket: Inspect for wear; replace if teeth are hooked or damaged.

Tip: Always stop engine and disconnect spark plug before performing maintenance.

Fuel & Oil Mixture

Use fresh unleaded gasoline (minimum 89 octane) mixed with high-quality 2-cycle engine oil.

  1. Mix Ratio: 40:1 (3.2 oz oil per 1 gallon gasoline).
  2. Mixing: Add oil to gas can first, then gasoline. Shake well.
  3. Bar & Chain Oil: Use only non-detergent, tacky bar oil for lubrication.
  4. Storage: Do not store mixed fuel more than 60 days. Use fuel stabilizer for longer storage.

WARNING! Never use automotive oil, diesel fuel, or old gasoline. Avoid spilling fuel on hot surfaces.

Safety Features

Chain Brake: Manual activation via front hand guard stops chain within seconds. Inertia-activated brake may engage during kickback. Anti-Vibration: Rubber mounts reduce vibration to operator. Throttle Lockout: Must be depressed before throttle trigger can be engaged. Right-Hand Guard: Protects from debris and chain breakage.

Storage & Care

Prepare saw for storage to prevent damage and starting issues.

  1. Drain fuel tank and run engine until it stops to clear carburetor.
  2. Remove chain, clean bar groove, soak chain in oil.
  3. Clean air filter, check spark plug.
  4. Store in dry, cool place away from children.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank for more than 30 days. Always store with chain brake disengaged.
