Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach Guide Bar & Chain: Place bar over studs, loop chain over sprocket and bar, adjust tension.
  2. Fill Fuel Tank: Use fresh 50:1 gasoline/oil mixture (see Section 6).
  3. Fill Chain Oil Tank: Use bar and chain oil only.
  4. Check Chain Brake: Ensure brake handle moves freely and engages.

WARNING! Always wear protective gloves during assembly. Ensure chain is properly tensioned before use.

Safety Information

Read and understand all safety instructions before operation.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and chainsaw chaps.
  2. Clear Work Area: Ensure no bystanders, pets, or obstacles within 15 feet.
  3. Kickback Awareness: Hold saw firmly with both hands; do not cut with tip of bar.
  4. Fuel Safety: Refuel in well-ventilated area, away from ignition sources; wipe spills immediately.

CAUTION! Never operate a chainsaw while fatigued, under the influence, or in poor weather conditions.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main Controls: Throttle trigger, throttle trigger lockout, stop switch, choke lever, primer bulb, chain brake handle, and decompression valve.

Components: Front handle with hand guard, rear handle, fuel tank cap, oil tank cap, spark plug cover, muffler, and anti-vibration mounts.

Operation: Depress throttle lockout to engage throttle. Choke for cold starts. Stop switch to shut off engine. Chain brake forward to engage, pull back toward rear handle to disengage.

Fuel & Lubrication

Fuel: Use 89 octane or higher unleaded gasoline mixed with a high-quality 2-cycle engine oil at 50:1 ratio. Do not use fuel older than 30 days.

  1. Mix fuel in approved container: Add oil to gasoline, shake thoroughly.
  2. Chain Oil: Use only bar and chain oil for lubrication. Do not use waste oil.
  3. Check oil flow: Run saw at high idle over light-colored surface; look for oil splatter.

Tip: Store fuel mixture in a cool, dry place in a clearly labeled, sealed container.

Starting & Operation

Starting Procedure (Cold Engine):

  1. Place saw on clear, flat ground. Engage chain brake.
  2. Press decompression valve (if equipped).
  3. Move choke lever to FULL CHOKE position.
  4. Press primer bulb 5-6 times until fuel is visible.
  5. Pull starter rope briskly until engine "pops".
  6. Move choke to HALF CHOKE, pull starter until engine starts.
  7. Allow to warm up 30 seconds, then disengage chain brake.

WARNING! Always start with chain brake engaged. Keep hands away from chain during and after starting.

Chain Maintenance

Chain Sharpening: Use round file (5/32" or 4.0mm) and file guide. Maintain 30° cutting angle and 10° top plate angle. Depth gauges should be filed to 0.025" (0.65mm).

  1. Chain Tension: Adjust when chain sags from bar rails. Correct tension: chain should snap back when pulled from bar.
  2. Bar Maintenance: Clean bar groove regularly; flip bar weekly for even wear.
  3. Sprocket Inspection: Replace if teeth are hooked or worn.

CAUTION! Disconnect spark plug wire before performing chain maintenance.

Storage & Care

Long-Term Storage (over 30 days):

  1. Drain all fuel from tank and carburetor.
  2. Run engine until it stops to clear fuel lines.
  3. Remove chain, clean, and soak in oil.
  4. Clean entire saw; store in dry, covered location.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank. Keep away from open flames and sparks.
