Safety Instructions

Always wear protective gear: safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and sturdy boots.

  1. Clear work area of obstacles and bystanders.
  2. Inspect chainsaw before each use: check chain tension, sharpness, and lubrication.
  3. Hold chainsaw firmly with both hands: right hand on rear handle, left on front.
  4. Never operate above shoulder height or on a ladder.
  5. Beware of kickback: keep nose of bar away from objects; use chain brake.

WARNING! Gasoline is flammable; refuel in well-ventilated area with engine off and cool. Never smoke near fuel.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Assemble guide bar and chain.

  1. Attach guide bar: Loosen bar nuts, position bar over studs, align chain drive links with sprocket.
  2. Install chain: Place chain over bar with cutters facing forward on top.
  3. Tension chain: Adjust tensioning screw until chain snaps back when pulled from bar.
  4. Tighten bar nuts: Secure while lifting bar tip upward.
  5. Fill fuel: Use 50:1 gasoline to 2-cycle oil mix (see section 7).
  6. Fill chain oil: Use bar and chain oil in oil tank.

CAUTION! Wear gloves when handling chain; it is sharp.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main controls: Throttle trigger, throttle lockout, stop switch, choke, primer bulb, decompression valve.

Components: Front handle with chain brake, rear handle with throttle, fuel cap, oil cap, spark plug, air filter, muffler, chain catcher.

Chain brake: Engages automatically upon kickback; manually engage by pushing front handle forward. Anti-vibration: Rubber mounts reduce vibration to hands. Chain tensioning: Side-mounted screw for quick adjustment.

Fuel & Lubrication

Fuel mix: 50:1 ratio (2.6 oz of 2-cycle oil per 1 gallon of gasoline). Use high-quality oil labeled for air-cooled engines.

  1. Mix fuel in approved container; shake well.
  2. Fill fuel tank to 80% capacity to allow for expansion.
  3. Chain oil: Use dedicated bar and chain oil for all temperatures.
  4. Check oil flow: Run saw at high idle; look for oil fling on ground.

Tip: Never use straight gasoline or motor oil; it will damage engine.

Starting & Operation

Starting procedure (cold engine):

  1. Engage chain brake by pushing front handle forward.
  2. Set stop switch to "ON".
  3. Pull choke to full position.
  4. Press primer bulb 5-6 times until fuel is visible.
  5. Press decompression valve (if equipped).
  6. Place saw on ground, hold rear handle with right foot.
  7. Pull starter cord briskly until engine fires.
  8. Push choke to half position; pull again to start.
  9. Warm up at idle for 30 seconds before cutting.

WARNING! Always engage chain brake when starting or carrying saw.

Maintenance Schedule

Daily: Check chain tension, sharpness, lubrication. Clean air filter, check for loose parts.

Weekly: Clean spark arrestor screen, inspect spark plug, clean cooling fins.

Monthly: Replace fuel filter, inspect fuel lines, clean carburetor air passage.

Yearly: Replace spark plug, decarbonize muffler, inspect anti-vibration mounts.

Chain Sharpening

Use round file (5/32") and file guide. Maintain 30° top plate angle, 10° down angle.

  1. Secure bar in vise.
  2. Place file guide over chain.
  3. File from inside out with steady strokes.
  4. File all cutters to same length.
  5. Check depth gauges with gauge tool; file down if too high.

CAUTION! Wear gloves; chain is sharp. File each cutter equally to prevent uneven cutting.

Storage Guidelines

Long-term storage (over 30 days):

  1. Drain fuel tank and run engine until it stops.
  2. Remove spark plug, add 1 tsp of oil through spark plug hole; pull starter 2-3 times.
  3. Clean entire saw, especially cooling fins and air filter.
  4. Remove chain, clean and soak in oil; store separately.
  5. Store in dry, cool place away from children.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank; it may degrade and clog carburetor.
