Safety Information

Read all instructions before use. Wear proper PPE.

  1. Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and steel-toe boots.
  2. Clear work area of debris and ensure secure footing.
  3. Never operate above shoulder height or on a ladder.
  4. Keep bystanders at least 15 feet away.
  5. Use two hands to operate saw at all times.

WARNING! Risk of kickback. Keep saw sharp and maintain proper chain tension. Do not operate if fatigued or under influence.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Assemble bar and chain.

  1. Attach guide bar: Remove side cover, align bar with studs, ensure tension pin fits in bar hole.
  2. Install chain: Place chain over bar with cutting teeth facing forward on top, engage drive links in sprocket.
  3. Adjust tension: Tighten nuts, pull chain snug, adjust tension screw until chain lifts slightly from bar.
  4. Mix fuel: Use 50:1 ratio (2.6 oz oil per gallon) of 89+ octane gasoline with 2-stroke oil.
  5. Fill tanks: Add fuel mix to fuel tank, add bar & chain oil to oil tank.

CAUTION! Fuel is flammable. Mix outdoors, away from sparks. Wipe spills immediately.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main components: Front handle with throttle trigger, rear handle, choke lever, ON/OFF switch, primer bulb, decompression valve, chain brake lever, side cover, tension adjuster.

Controls: Throttle trigger (with lockout), choke lever (cold start), ON/OFF switch (STOP/RUN), primer bulb (press 5x when cold), decompression button (press before starting), chain brake lever (forward to engage, pull back to disengage).

Maintenance points: Air filter cover, spark plug, muffler, chain tension screw, oil fill cap, fuel fill cap.

Starting & Operation

Starting procedure (cold engine):

  1. Place saw on flat, clear surface.
  2. Engage chain brake by pushing lever forward.
  3. Move ON/OFF switch to RUN.

  10. Pull starter until engine starts.
  11. Allow to warm up 30 seconds, then disengage chain brake.

Tip: For warm restart, use HALF CHOKE or no choke.

Chain Maintenance

Daily chain care ensures performance and safety.

  1. Chain tension: Check when cold. Chain should lift slightly from bar but not sag.
  2. Sharpening: Use round file matching chain pitch (.325"). File at 30° angle, equal strokes per tooth.
  3. Depth gauges: File to maintain .025" below cutting edge.
  4. Lubrication: Ensure oil tank filled, oiler working (check oil streak on cardboard test).
  5. Bar maintenance: Clean bar groove, flip bar weekly for even wear.

WARNING! Always wear gloves when handling chain. Disconnect spark plug wire.

Engine Maintenance

Regular maintenance schedule:

Fuel mix: Use fresh fuel (less than 30 days old). Stale fuel causes starting issues.

Storage & Winterization

For storage over 30 days:

  1. Drain fuel tank completely.
  2. Run engine until it stalls to clear carburetor.
  3. Remove spark plug, add 1 tsp oil through hole, pull starter 2x, reinstall plug.
  4. Clean entire saw, apply light oil to bar and chain.
  5. Store in dry place, cover to prevent dust.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank. Fuel degrades and damages components.
