Safety Information

Always wear appropriate PPE: helmet, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and steel-toe boots.

  1. Pre-Operation Check: Inspect chainsaw for damage, ensure chain brake functions, check chain tension and sharpness.
  2. Fueling: Use fresh fuel mix (50:1 gasoline to 2-cycle oil). Fuel in well-ventilated area, away from ignition sources.
  3. Starting: Place on firm ground, engage chain brake, use proper starting procedure.
  4. Operation: Maintain secure footing, be aware of kickback zone, never operate above shoulder height.

WARNING! Chainsaw kickback can cause serious injury or death. Always use proper technique and safety equipment.

Maintenance Schedule

Access maintenance points via removal of covers and air filter. Daily: Check chain tension, sharpness, and lubrication. Weekly: Clean air filter, check spark plug. Monthly: Clean cooling fins, check fuel filter, inspect anti-vibration mounts.

Every 50 hours: Replace spark plug, clean carburetor air passage, check fuel lines. Every 100 hours: Clean exhaust port and spark arrestor screen, check cylinder compression. Seasonal: Replace fuel filter, inspect clutch and sprocket.

Engine Service

Engine disassembly requires special tools. Cylinder and Piston: Inspress for scoring, measure ring end gap (0.4-0.6 mm). Crankshaft: Check bearings for play, inspect seals. Carburetor Adjustment: Initial settings: L screw 1-1/4 turns out, H screw 1 turn out. Fine-tune at operating temperature.

Compression Test: Should be 120-150 psi. Ignition: Check spark with tester, gap 0.5 mm. Fuel System: Inspect lines for cracks, clean fuel filter.

Cutting System

Guide Bar: Inspect for straightness, clean oil passages, flip regularly for even wear. Chain: Sharpen with 5.5 mm round file at 30° angle, maintain correct depth gauge setting (0.65 mm). Sprocket: Replace if worn (drum or rim type). Chain Brake: Test function, replace band if stretched or damaged.

  1. Chain Tension: Adjust so chain snaps back when pulled from bar.
  2. Oiler: Test flow, clean outlet, adjust screw if adjustable.
  3. Sprocket Clutch: Inspect shoes for wear, replace if grooved.

Tip: Always stop engine and engage chain brake before servicing cutting system.

Fuel & Lubrication

Fuel Mix: 50:1 with ISO-L-EGD or JASO FD certified 2-cycle oil. Bar & Chain Oil: Use proper viscosity for temperature.

  1. Fuel System Cleaning: Drain tank, replace filter, blow out lines.
  2. Carburetor Rebuild: Kit includes diaphragms, gaskets, needle valve.
  3. Oil Pump: Remove and clean, check diaphragm, adjust output.
  4. Storage: Run dry or use fuel stabilizer, empty oil tank.

WARNING! Gasoline is extremely flammable. No smoking during fueling or maintenance.

Electrical System

Ignition Module: Test with multimeter, primary resistance 0.5-1.5 Ω. Stop Switch: Continuity check when pressed. Rewind Starter: Inspect spring, pawls, and rope. Decompression Valve: Clean, ensure it seals when closed.
